2014 RiverfestClarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta begins Saturday, September 6th, 2014 at 10:00am at McGregor Park Boat Ramp. The Regatta is sponsored by U.S. Bank.

This year marks the 8th year for the annual Riverfest Regatta, where participants build their own boats made of cardboard or plastic bottles and race them on the Cumberland River. The heats are timed with the fastest time being declared the winner in the respective classes. The course is 100 yards long.

Riverside Drive Lane Closures for Clarksville’s Riverfest and Park Information

 

Clarksville's Riverfest 2013Clarksville, TN – There will be lane closures on Riverside Drive for Clarksville’s Riverfest through September 7th. Traffic will be slower moving than usual during this time period, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination.

Free parking will be available at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center parking lot. Bus service will be running every 30-45 minutes to shuttle patrons to the Riverfest gates on Saturday only, beginning at 9:30am and continuing until the park closes.

Center for Disease Control tips for preventing Carbon Monoxide Poisoning on Your Boat

 

Centers for Disease Control and PreventionWashington, D.C. – Gasoline-powered engines on boats, including onboard generators, produce carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless and odorless gas that can poison or kill someone who breathes too much of it.

Larger boats, such as houseboats, sometimes have generators that vent toward the rear of the boat. This venting poses a danger of CO poisoning to people on the rear swim deck or water platform.

This year marks the 6th year for the annual Riverfest Regatta, where participants build their own boats using materials from a specified list, and race them on the Cumberland River. The heats are timed with the fastest time being declared the winner in the respective classes. The course is 100 yards long.

37th Annual Camper’s Fair Returns to LBL’s Piney Campground

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – This is no ordinary weekend camping trip! Set up your campsite at Piney Campground’s 37th Annual Camper’s Fair, September 15th-19th, and enjoy a variety of activities including arts, crafts, and evening entertainment. Piney is located in Tennessee on the south end of Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.

Piney is open to the public at no admission fee, Saturday, September 18th, from 8:00am-4:00pm and Sunday, September 19th, from 10:00am-2:00pm, for the open house. Displays of camping equipment, RVs, and boats will be provided by area dealers. Piney campers are invited to bring arts and crafts to display at the flea market.
