City of Clarksville announces Burn Ban Continues

 

All outdoor open burning inside the Clarksville city limits is prohibited

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan reminds all residents that a burn ban remains in effect for the City of Clarksville.

The ban, which covers all areas within the city limits, took effect October 31st and prohibits all outdoor open burning, such as leaf burning, construction burning, bonfires, and any burning of brush, vegetation or household wastes.

Tennessee State Fire Marshal Reminds Tennesseans of Danger Posed by Dry Weather

 

Tennessee State Fire MarshalNashville, TN – With dry conditions, low water levels, and little to no precipitation forecast throughout most of Tennessee for the foreseeable future, the State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) reminds Tennesseans to make fire prevention and fire safety a top priority this fall. 

“Drought conditions are increasing the threat of wildfires in Tennessee counties, specifically those in the eastern portion of the state,” said State Fire Marshal and Commerce & Insurance Commissioner Julie Mix McPeak. “We urge Tennesseans to heed any burn bans currently activated in their community. By employing just a few basic fire safety precautions, the public can help prevent the devastating loss of life and property.”

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Halloween at Fort Defiance event on Friday, October 28th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the fort located at 120 Duncan Street.

Visitors are invited to gather around the bonfire to listen to four haunting tales of woe and terror based upon historical events. Don’t be afraid, Fort Defiance isn’t haunted…we think!

Tennessee State Fire Marshal Urges Caution with Outdoor Burning

 

Tennessee State Fire MarshalNashville, TN – As fire crews contain hundreds of acres of wildfire that are currently burning in Tennessee, the State Fire Marshal’s Office wants to remind the public to be aware of outdoor-burning safety precautions.

“Negligent outdoor burning can lead to death, injury, property loss and environmental damage,” said State Fire Marshal and Commerce & Insurance Commissioner Julie Mix McPeak. “Care must be taken to ensure that burnings are conducted safely.”
