Tennessee Vols Football loses at #23 Auburn Tigers, 30-17

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsAuburn, AL – Despite holding a two-possession lead in the second quarter and another stellar performance by sophomore running back Eric Gray, Tennessee was unable to deliver the upset at No. 23/21 Auburn, falling 30-17 to the Tigers on Saturday night.
 
Gray recorded a season-high 173 rushing yards on 22 attempts, marking the second consecutive outing the Memphis, Tennessee, native surpassed the century mark and the fourth time this season. Gray added a touchdown on a 1-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter, but it would not be enough to turn the tide.

Tennessee Vols Football falls on the road to Arkansas Razorbacks, 24-13

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsFayetteville, AR – Despite leading 13-0 at halftime, the Tennessee Vols football team was unable to hang on and fell 24-13 to the Arkansas Razorbacks at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday night.
 
Arkansas (3-3) scored all 24 of its points in the third quarter while holding the Vols scoreless in the second half. 
 
Sophomore running back Eric Gray had another impressive performance to lead the Vols offensively. The sophomore recorded his fourth career 100-yard rushing game, finishing the night with 123 yards on 31 carries. He added 27 yards on three receptions, as well.

Tennessee Vols football falls to #2 Alabama Crimson Tide 48-17 at Neyland Stadium

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – The Tennessee Vols football team got a pair of touchdown passes from senior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano and a career-best day from freshman wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, but it wasn’t enough for the Vols to keep pace in a 48-17 setback to the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide at Neyland Stadium on Saturday.
 
Guarantano who had scoring passes of 38 yards to Hyatt and 27 yards to senior wide receiver Josh Palmer, finished the day 13 of 24 through the air. He moved into seventh on UT’s career passing yards list (5,976) after throwing for 162 yards vs. the Crimson Tide. Guarantano moved past Jeff Francis (1985-88), who threw for 5,867 yards during his career.

Tennessee Vols Football defeats South Carolina 31-27 on the Road

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsColumbia, S.C. – The 16th-ranked Tennessee football team found the end zone in all four quarters during a hard-fought road win over South Carolina Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Volunteers have now triumphed in seven straight games, dating to last season.

A special teams mistake by South Carolina (0-1) in the game’s closing moments secured the victory for UT (1-0), as true freshman Jimmy Holiday secured a muffed punt deep in Gamecocks territory.

Tennessee Vols Football roars from behind late to beat Indiana at TaxSlayer Gator Bowl

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsJacksonville, FL – A late fourth-quarter charge, where the Vols scored 14 points in the final quarter propelled Tennessee Vols football team to a 23-22 win over Indiana in the 75th TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in TIAA Bank Stadium. 
 
With the victory, UT finishes the season 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the SEC to give second-year head coach Jeremy Pruitt his first bowl win. 
 
Freshman running back Eric Gray scored the game-tying touchdown on second and 10 after recovering an on-side kick to give the Vols the ball back at 46 yard line with 4:19 left on the clock.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsJacksonville, FL – Tennessee Vols football will look to cap the 2019 season with its sixth straight win as the Volunteers take on Indiana in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Thursday night at 6:00pm CT.

The Big Orange are playing in their first bowl game since the 2016 Music City Bowl.

A win over the Hoosiers would be their fourth consecutive bowl victory and third straight in the Gator Bowl.

Tennessee Vols Football defeats Vanderbilt 28-10 at Neyland Stadium

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Freshman running back Eric Gray moved like lightning, and the hard-hitting Tennessee Football defense delivered the thunder as the Volunteers tormed past Vanderbilt, 28-10, on a rain-soaked Senior Night at Neyland Stadium.
 
With the victory, UT finished the regular season at 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the SEC. The Vols are bowl eligible for the first time since 2016 and will learn their destination and opponent when bids are announced on December 8th. The Commodores, meanwhile, saw their three-game winning streak in the series end and their record fall to 3-9 overall and 1-7 in league play.

Tennessee Vols Football beats Missouri on the road, 24-20

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsColumbia, MO – A career performance from junior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano and 100-yard receiving outputs from three different receivers pushed Tennessee Vols Football past Missouri 24-20 for its fourth consecutive win and its fifth win in six games on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The Vols improved to 6-5 on the year and 4-3 in SEC play, becoming bowl eligible, while Missouri fell to 5-6 and 2-5 in conference play.

Guarantano put together an impressive display through the air, completing 23-of-40 passes for a career-high 415 yards and two touchdowns.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee Vols Football closes its road slate for the 2019 season on Saturday with a visit to Columbia, MO, to take on the Missouri Tigers.

The game is slated for a 6:30pm (CT) kick, with Vols entering the eighth iteration of the series on a three-game win streak and fresh off of a bye week.

Saturday’s outing will be broadcast on the SEC Network with Tom Hart (PxP), Jordan Rodgers (analyst), and Cole Cubelic (sideline) on the call.

Tennessee Vols Football comes back in second half to defeat Kentucky, 17-13

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsLexington, KY – A goal-line stand on fourth-and-goal by the Tennessee Vols football defense sealed a 17-13 Tennessee victory over the Kentucky at Kroger Field on Saturday night.
 
After Tennessee stifled three consecutive Wildcat runs from inside the 6-yard line, Kentucky quarterback Lynn Bowden Jr. ran for the end zone on fourth-down and was stopped by the Vols’ Daniel Bituli and Ja’Quain Blakely with 1:17 remaining.
