Clarksville, TN – Children and families gathered at Downtown Commons on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, for More Than Amazing Magic, a performance by magician and mentalist Terry Hedges. The event took place at 2:00pm.
The event was hosted by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library in partnership with Montgomery County Parks and Recreation. The program ran from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and was part of the library’s Fall Break activities for local families.
Hedges combines magic, mentalism, humor and audience participation in his performances. His work includes illusions and demonstrations that invite audience members to take part in the show. During the Downtown Commons event, children laughed and reacted to the performance while adults watched from the audience.
“We’ve had a really great turnout,” stated Laura Hoffman, youth services supervisor at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library. “We’ve been offering this program for the past couple of years, and it gives us an opportunity to provide resources and activities for families during a time when they can spend quality time together.”
One parent also shared positive feedback about Hedges’ performance.

“Terry was absolutely incredible. He’s not just a great magician; he’s funny, personable, engaging, and genuinely knows how to work a room,” the parent stated.
The magic show was one of several activities offered around Fall Break by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library. The library’s seasonal programming included opportunities for young people to participate in games, crafts and Halloween-themed activities. A Fall Break lock-in for tweens was also scheduled, featuring games, dancing and food.
The library offers programs throughout the year for children, teens and adults, including story times, craft activities, educational programs and special events. Its calendar provides families with opportunities to take part in activities at the Main Library and North Branch.
