Downtown @ Sundown to feature Logan Mize this Friday

 

2019 Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert SeriesMontgomery County, TN – This Friday, August 16th, 2019, is the next Downtown @ Sundown Concert series at the Downtown Commons from 7:00pm-10:00pm.

Country singer/songwriter, Logan Mize will headline with local group the Tennessee Pluckers opening the night. Mize has been touring the country since 2009, and his latest album, “Come Back Road” was released in 2017.

Fuel the Bus Event a great success

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Saturday, August 3rd, 2019, despite the sweltering heat, folks showed up in mass to “Fuel the Bus” between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

The Clarksville Police Department’s hope was not only fuel the bus, but fill the bus. That’s exactly what happened. There were over 60,000 items collected which will be used to support the 2300 children assisted by the FUEL program.

2019 Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert SeriesMontgomery County, TN – Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert series is this Friday, August 2nd from 7:00pm-10:00pm.

In honor of musician and educator, Mercy Yrabedra, Music 4 Mercy is made up of her former students as well as some new blood.

This 10-piece band is full of soul and funk.

Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion Soldiers, Family build bonds during USO Warrior Week at APSU

 

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)Clarksville, TN – During USO Warrior Week at Austin Peay State University (APSU), Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion Soldiers and their Family members had a chance to discover new activities, together,  recently.

USO Warrior Week, held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and El Paso, Texas, is an annual event for wounded, ill and injured service members and their families. It features free, therapeutic and recreational activities, events and music for participants to enjoy and explore together.

FUEL the Bus Event to take place at Downtown Commons, August 3rd

 

Downtown CommonsClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government invites everyone out to the Downtown Commons on August 3rd, 2019, for “FUEL The Bus” event. “FUEL The Bus” starts at 10:00am and will end at 2:00pm. The event will support of the FUEL Kids Nutrition Program.

The FUEL Program is designed to feed children whose only food source may be the food they receive from school.

USO Show Troupe opens Downtown @ Sundown at Downtown Commons, Friday

 

2019 Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert SeriesMontgomery County, TN – The next Downtown @ Sundown Concert is this Friday, July 19th, 2019. The USO has partnered with Downtown Commons for a spectacular event.

The USO Show Troupe will open the night at 7:00pm with an arrangement of classic Americana songs. Country acoustic artist, Andrea Guess jumps on at 8:00pm with the USO Show Troupe returning around 9:00pm to rock out the night with some upbeat jams.

Mic Check Monday to feature Angelia Williams July 15th

 

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – On July 15th, 2019, the Mic Check Monday concert series will feature Soul, R&B, county/rock, and dance sessions at the Downtown Commons.

Opening the event at 6:00pm is Corey Michael Bryant, a country/rock/blues musician. Corey plays at the River Club on Friday evenings.

City of Clarksville will plant fewer new sweetgums, add some planters along Franklin Street

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, July 9th, 2019, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts announced that City officials have revised the plan for replacing trees and landscape elements along Franklin Street in Downtown Clarksville.

Essentially, the new plan calls for replanting fewer trees than were removed earlier this year, and adding concrete planters filled with grasses and flowers matching the landscaping used at nearby Downtown Commons.

The 100 block of Franklin Street is temporarily treeless as the City of Clarksville prepares to add new trees and planters to the street in early October.

Mic Check Monday features Gospel Groups July 8th

 

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – On July 8th, 2019, the free Mic Check Monday concert series will feature three Gospel groups and a spoken word artist at Downtown Commons. Concerts will take place each Monday in July.

Opening the event at 6:00pm is the Send Judah. Lead Singer Danita Batista has been singing for over 30 years.
