Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers Thursday night game was cancelled due to inclement weather at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. This was the final series of the season between both teams, with the Sounds finishing 9-6 against the Dodgers in 2019.
It’s the second consecutive year Nashville beat Oklahoma City in the season series. Last year, the Sounds beat the Dodgers 9-7. It’s the fifth season series taken by Nashville, along with Memphis, Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tacoma
Oklahoma City, OK – Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard threw seven strong innings, and Ronald Guzman went 4-for-4 with three extra-base hits on Wednesday night, as the Sounds cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Sounds improved to 14-5 in August and have won 12 of their last 14 games. The victory gave them a fourth straight winning series.
The Sounds never trailed in the game, taking a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a three-run homer by Jett Bandy.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back in a road trip-opening 11-5 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Matt Davidson started the offensive barrage with a three-run homer off Oklahoma City starter J.D. Martin in the first inning. Andy Ibanez joined the home run derby with a solo blast in the second inning and Patrick Wisdom launched a two-run shot in the eighth. For Davidson, it was his team-leading 28th of the season. Wisdom is one shy of Davidson with 27.
Oklahoma City, OK – The top of the fourth inning was completed when rain fell at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark forcing the Nashville Sounds game against Oklahoma City Dodgers to be suspended. Oklahoma City was up 4-0 before the game was stopped.
All four runs by the Dodgers were scored in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on first and second, Matt Beaty singled to score Drew Jackson. Kyle Garlick doubled to score Daniel Castro and Beaty. Edwin Rios singled to score Garlick and put the score at 4-0.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds saw a late lead evaporate in a 7-3 loss to Oklahoma City Dodgers Thursday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The team’s winning streak was snapped at four games with the loss.
The Sounds scored first and held leads of 1-0, 3-1, and 3-2 as late as the seventh inning, but the Dodgers scored the final six runs of the game.
Red-hot Zack Granite started the game with a base hit to left field and promptly took second base on left fielder Kyle Garlick’s error. Two batters later, Granite came in to score the first run of the game on a double play ball.
Oklahoma City, OK – Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, the Nashville Sounds ran way with a 13-6 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers with the help of Jose Trevino driving in four runs and Zack Granite scoring four runs.
One night after collecting a season-high 15 hits, Nashville scored a season-high 13 runs and matched the hit output with another 15. They scored two or more runs in four separate innings, including four in the fourth and four in the eighth.
It was all Nashville from the start as Matt Davidson and Andy Ibanez delivered two-out, run-scoring hits in the top of the first inning to give the Sounds a 2-0 lead.
Oklahoma City, OK – Jorge Mateo broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI triple in the top of the 9th inning on Tuesday night and propelled the Nashville Sounds to a 5-4 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Sounds.
The Sounds trailed 2-0 in the 5th when Mateo started the team’s scoring by singling off Brock Stewart to score Sheldon Neuse. Then Melvin Mercedes and Nick Martini connected on consecutive RBI triples, and Ramon Laureano grounded out to score Martini and give the Sounds a 4-2 lead. Neuse has seven multi-hit games in his last 11, and Martini now has reached base safely in 55 consecutive games as a Sound.
Nashville, TN – Tonight’s scheduled series opener between the Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The game will be made up in a doubleheader Wednesday. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 4:35pm with game two beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Both games will be seven innings.
Nashville Honky Tonks
Nashville, TN -The Nashville Honky Tonks wrapped up the 2018 Battle for the Boot series with a 5-2 defeat Sunday night at the hands of the Round Rock Dance Halls.
Round Rock’s Drew Robinson picked up right where he left off from Saturday’s game. Robinson slugged a game-tying two-out home run Saturday night and then crushed an 0-2 pitch beyond The Band Box to lead off Sunday’s ballgame.
The Honky Tonks responded in the home half of the frame. Jorge Mateo singled and swiped second base. Four batters later he came around to score on a play that saw two errors committed by Round Rock shortstop Cliff Pennington.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored eight runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 13-3 win over the Nashville Sounds at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Thursday night.
Oklahoma City’s huge inning came right after Nashville plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth to cut into a 3-0 Dodgers lead. BJ Boyd’s two-out, two-run single made it a 3-2 game and turned the momentum in the Sounds’ favor momentarily.
Eight of the first nine batters reached safely for Oklahoma City in the bottom of the fourth. Tim Locastro highlighted the big frame with a three-run homer off Sounds’ starter Chris Bassitt.
