Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hosted Clarksville’s second annual Clarksville BBQ Bash on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at Liberty Park.

The Clarksville BBQ Bash included a full barbecue competition, people’s choice, fun run, cornhole tournament, artisan vendors and a football viewing party.

Clarksville’s LEAP Organization Celebrates Youth Development Day

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – Saturday, January 31st, 2015 marked the 2nd Annual LEAP Gala Celebrating Youth Development at the Emmanuel Family Life Center. Clarksville  Mayor Kim McMillan issued a proclamation with was delivered by City Councilwoman Wanda Smith designating January 31st Youth Development Day and urging those is the Clarksville community to take time on this day to acknowledge the work of the LEAP Organization in making a positive impact on youth in our community.

The Gala opened with a string musical ensemble by the Brio Strings as guests were greeted, seated, and served by youth and mentors. Other entertainment included performances by West Creek High School Step Team, the Distinguished Steppers Unlimited, Mercedes Johnson singing “Confidence” by Tasha Cobb, and a Youth Fashion Show organized by Sharon Edwards featuring fashions from local designers ELO.

Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce events for September, 2013

 

Clarksville Area Chamber of CommerceClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce announces upcoming events during the month of September.

On September 14th at 8:00am, the Clarksville Young Professionals will be hosting their annual Give A Kick Kickball Tournament at the Swan Lake Sports Complex, 2002 Sanders Road. Paint a Bowl to help fight Hunger!

 

Start a new tradition in 2010—Get involved and paint a bowl to donate to Empty Bowls Clarksville on Thursday January 28th, 2010 from 5:00- 8:00p.m.. Each bowl painted will help feed our hungry neighbors and raise hunger awareness. The cost is $25.00, which includes everything you need to paint a bowl and you will enjoy light refreshments, plus you will receive a ticket to attend the Empty Bowls Soup Dinner on February 23, 2010.

All bowls painted will be available at the 2nd Annual Empty Bowls Clarksville Dinner where participants will be able to choose a hand-made bowl from hundreds that have been donated, and enjoy dinner that includes a variety home-made soups, bread, beverages and desserts. All proceeds will go to Loaves and Fishes, Urban Ministries Grace Assistance Food Bank and FUEL.
