Austin Peay State University first year Students give back through Freshman Service Project

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) 2019 freshmen class members began their academic careers on an altruistic note by participating in the Freshman Service Project, an annual event that allows freshman to bond while introducing them to nonprofit organization’s in the community on August 24th, 2019.

This year, 150 Austin Peay State University students volunteered at five nonprofits in the community. (APSU)

Clarksville Volunteers clean old Red River Marina

 

City of Clarksville teams up with Cumberland River Compact

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and the Cumberland River Compact joined forces to clean a section of the Red River in preparation for a new walking trail.

More than 30 volunteers met April 29th, 2018 and worked to pick up and remove trash from the old Kraft Street marina site and along the wooded trail leading to it. The cleanup was funded by a grant from Tennessee Valley Authority, secured by the Cumberland River Compact.

The City of Clarksville and the Cumberland River Compact joined forces April 29th to clean a section of the Red River in preparation for a new walking trail. More than 30 volunteers spent the afternoon removing more than 1,900 lbs of trash, 325 lbs of plastic and aluminum recyclables and 186 tires from the area.

City of Clarksville seeks Volunteers for Red River cleanup

 

City of Clarksville, Cumberland River Compact will join to beautify area around old marina

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Cumberland River Compact and the City of Clarksville are joining forces to clean a section of the Red River in preparation for a new walking trail.

Volunteers are needed to join a group that will gather from 8:30am to noon Saturday, April 14th, 2018 to remove trash and debris to beautify the area around an old marina site off Kraft Street.

Cumberland River Compact to bring ‘River Talks’ to Clarksville

 

Engineer will speak about low-impact development

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Cumberland River Compact is taking its “Innovations and Solutions” River Talks series on the road to Clarksville.

Jay Fulmer with Fulmer Engineering will present “Best Practices in Low-Impact Development,” an overview of common and secondary applications, examples in Middle Tennessee and information about site selection, installation and maintenance.

Volunteers Needed to Plant Trees and Plants at Rotary Park

 

Make a Difference Day- Stream Enhancement Project

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – On Saturday, October 23rd, from 10:00am-2:00pm volunteers are needed to help plant trees and plants along the banks and grassy area around the Wall Branch Creek.

Wall Branch Creek meanders through Montgomery County’s Rotary Park and provides cool vistas for park visitors and habitat for a broad variety of native wild life. This stream has a segment that receives concentrated storm water runoff from a relatively large grassy area, and this may be degrading the stream’s natural systems. «Read the rest of this article»
