Tennessee Vols Basketball rolls to 72-43 win over Florida A&M at Thompson-Boling Arena

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Behind a staunch defensive effort, the #21 Tennessee Vols basketball team moved past Florida A&M, 72-43, Wednesday night in Thompson-Boling Arena.

The 43 points scored by the Rattlers (0-7) are the second fewest points scored by an opponent this season. It also marked the fewest points for Florida A&M this season. It is the third time this season the Vols (7-1) have held an opponent to fewer than 50 points.

The Vols limited the Rattlers to just 35.6 percent shooting from the field as only two Florida A&M players shot better than 50 percent from the field. Tennessee’s 29-point margin of victory Wednesday night is the second highest margin of victory this season.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUBurlington, IA – Junior Austin Kramer sits in a fourth-place tie after Day 1 of the Golfweek Conference Challenge while he and his Austin Peay State University teammates sit in ninth place overall after Sunday’s opening round, being played at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.

The Knoxville Tennessee junior, Kramer had five birdies and three bogeys on the par-72, 7,222-yard layout as the Govs shot an 11-over 299.

Austin Peay State University names Dustin Korte as Men’s Golf Interim Coach

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Dustin Korte, who spent the past season as part-time assistant to Kirk Kayden after a superb Governors golf career, has been named Austin Peay State University interim men’s golf coach.

Korte will step into the void left by Kayden, who announced last week he had accepted the head-coaching position at Mercer.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf signs Finnish junior for 2014-15 season

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Jonas Vaisanen, a member of the Finland Boys National Team, has signed a letter of intent to play men’s golf at Austin Peay State University.

The Karrby, Finland native comes to APSU after a superb junior career in his native Finland, where he was a member of the Finland Boys National Team, and Northern Europe.
