101st Airborne Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team cases Colors in Iraq

Baghdad, Iraq – The 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne,” 101st Airborne Division, officially cased its colors and transitioned its mission to 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team “Arctic Wolves,” 25th Infantry Division, during a ceremony held September 25th, 2019 at Forward Operating Base Union III.

The casing of the colors signified the end of Bastogne’s current mission in Iraq, as they were a part of a regular rotation of forces that support the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve.

Maj. of 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, case the brigade colors officially ending their mission within Iraq. ‘Range 15’ stars Mat Best, Nick Palmisciano, Jarred Taylor visit Iraq

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionBaghdad, Iraq – U.S. veterans and now stars of recent military horror-comedy, “Range 15,” visited multiple locations in Iraq to meet with service members and offer a free screening of their movie July 9th-11th.

Service Members deployed to Forward Operating Base Union III in support of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command – Operation Inherent Resolve filed into a room to watch “Range 15” and got an opportunity to meet the stars: Mat Best, Army Ranger veteran and CEO of Article 15 Clothing company, Jarred Taylor, Air Force veteran and Article 15’s chief marketing officer, and Nick Palmisciano, Army veteran and founder of Ranger Up clothing company.

101st Airborne Division, Coalition celebrate Independence Day

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionBaghdad, Iraq – When 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) service members started their day Saturday morning, “Cover Down,” part of the 101st Band, was already playing popular music. Shortly after 6:00am, personnel from 101st, sister services and Coalition were getting covered in colors – blue, green, red, orange, pink, purple and yellow.

The USO-sponsored 5K color run started off an early celebration of Independence Day, which began a day of activities for service members deployed in support of Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command – Operation Inherent Resolve, led by the 101st at Forward Operating Base Union III, Baghdad.

Star Spangled Comedy Tour entertains 101st Airborne Soldiers in Iraq

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionBaghdad, Iraq – Three comedians entertained dozens of troops and Coalition members, all deployed to Iraq as part of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command – Operation Inherent Resolve, at the Eagle Fitness Center, Forward Operating Base Union III, June 21st.

Stephen Thomas, Steve Mazan and Sam Fedele performed two shows at Union III, their third stop in Iraq, as part of the Star Spangled Comedy Tour, which is the first entertainment tour to come to Union III since the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) took command in Iraq on March 8th.
