The first game between the two franchises was a historic occasion. On September 12th, 1976, the Buccaneers, led by head coach John McKay and quarterback Steve Spurrier, played the inaugural game in team history against the Oilers at the Astrodome. Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and Minnisota Vikings have met just 12 times in the regular season. The Vikings lead the series 8-4, including wins by the Vikings in the last four meetings at Mall of America Field.
The Titans and Vikings have opened the regular season against each other on one prior occasion. In 1989, the Vikings hosted and defeated the then-Oilers on Kickoff Weekend by a final score of 38-7. It was the first of 10 victories during the regular season for the eventual NFC Central Champion Vikings.

This week’s game will be televised regionally on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX 17. Thom Brennaman will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Charles Davis with Tony Siragusa serving as an on-field analyst.

The Titans and Ravens have shared an intense rivalry since their first encounter in 1996. In 20 all-time meetings, including three playoff bouts, each club has won 10 times. However, the Titans have won four out of the last six match ups.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans waived eight year veteran kicker Rob Bironas today. He has been with the Titans since June 21st, 2005.
Bironas is statistically one of the top 10 kickers in NFL history. He made 85.6 percent of his field goals in the first eight years of his career and became one of the top two scorers in club history.

San Diego, CA – Antonio Gates may have been sidelined with sore ribs, but that did not slow the San Diego Chargers Sunday. Dante Rosario stepped in and had a career day fueling the Chargers to a 38-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Rosario scored twice in the first quarter. The first on a 11 yard pass from Philip Rivers and the second on a 4 yard pass. This put the Chargers up 14-0 over the Titans. Rosario ended the day catching four passes for 48 yards and three touchdowns. «Read the rest of this article»
Nashville, TN – Four persons have won the right to participate in Tennessee’s fourth-ever managed elk hunt to be held in October at North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. The winners were announced Thursday (June 14th) during the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission Wildlife Management Committee meeting at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Region II Ray Bell Building.
The four winners, all Tennessee residents, were selected in a computer drawing from 5,799 applicants for the elk hunt scheduled October 15th-19th at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. «Read the rest of this article»
