UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 22/23 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball (10-2, 0-0 SEC) opens Southeastern Conference action and plays its first game of 2020 on Thursday evening, hosting Missouri (3-10, 0-0 SEC) at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tip-off is slated for 4:02pm CT. This will mark the 13th meeting between these programs, with the Lady Vols leading the series, 9-3. 

The Big Orange women opened the campaign 7-0, including a road win over (then) #15/14 Notre Dame, and are 3-2 since then with losses to Texas and (then) #1/1 Stanford providing the only blemishes.

Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball knocks out Howard at Thompson-Boling Arena, 88-38

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee Lady Vols basketball sophomore Rae Burrell logged her second career double-double to lead UT to an 88-38 victory over Howard on Sunday afternoon in Thompson-Boling Arena.
 
With a crowd of 9,269 looking on, Burrell led Tennessee (10-2) in scoring with 18 points while grabbing a career-high 12 boards. Freshman Jessie Rennie also had a career day, enjoying a 5-of-7 afternoon behind the arc for a career-best 16 points. Junior Rennia Davis and freshman Jordan Horston were also in double figures for the Big Orange with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

#22/24 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball plays Howard at Thompson-Boling Arena, Sunday

 

#22/24 Tennessee vs. Howard

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN –  No. 22/24 Tennessee (9-2) will open a two-game home stand and simultaneously close out the 2019 portion of its schedule on Sunday, as the Lady Vols welcome Howard (8-4) to Thompson-Boling Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:02pm CT. This will mark the first time these programs have met on the hardwood.

Tennessee is coming off a two-game West Coast swing from December 16th to December 22nd that saw the Big Orange come away with a split. The Lady Vols suffered a 78-51 defeat at (then) No. 1/1 Stanford on December 18th and closed the trip in Oregon on December 21st with an 88-61 victory at Portland State.

#23/24 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball blows out Portland State, 88-61

 

UT Lady VolsPortland, OR – The No. 23/24 Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team shot a scorching 51.4 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from behind the arc on Saturday, defeating Portland State in Viking Pavilion, 88-61.
 
Sophomore Rae Burrell led Tennessee (9-2) in scoring, narrowly missing a double-double with a career-high 21 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Jordan Horston was close behind, also setting a career high with 20 points. Junior Rennia Davis recorded her tenth rebound of the game just over two minutes into the second half to solidify the 24th double-double of her career. She went on to collect a season-high 13 rebounds while scoring 18 points.

Blake Jenkines – Hampton University

Hampton, VA – Former Kenwood High School basketball star Blake Jenkines is living the dream of any college athlete by going to the NCAA Basketball Tournament. She and her Hampton University Lady Pirates, champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, will be a #15 seed playing #2 seed Duke University, Sunday in Cameron Indoor Stadium at 12:05pm ET.

The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

The Lady Pirates (28-5) are the No. 15 seed in the Norfolk Region, while the Atlantic Coast Conference champion Blue Devils (30-2) are the No. 2 seed.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball schedule will feature two tournaments and several early home games along with the new Ohio Valley Conference divisional format for the 2012-13 season.

After opening the 2011-12 season with eight of their first nine games on the road, the Governors will have a more home-friendly slate this season. In fact, APSU will open at home for the first time since the 2003-04 season (Knoxville College) when they play host to Samford, Friday, November 9th.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will participate in the 2012 Men’s Cancun Challenge in November.

The tournament field will include eight teams, divided into two divisions. Austin Peay will play in Mayan Division along with Gardner-Webb, Howard and Western Carolina. The Riviera Division will be comprised of DePaul, Iowa, Western Kentucky and Wichita State.
