Austin Peay State University Men’s Basketball releases schedule for 2018-19

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – After a first season which featured a third-place turnaround and Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors, Austin Peay State University head men’s basketball coach Matt Figger has announced the 2018-19 schedule for the Govs.

The 13-game non-conference schedule will feature two in-season tournaments and the longest stretch of road games in program history—a 30-day, seven-game, four-state, two-country jaunt from November 9th-December 8th.

Veteran-laden APSU Women’s Golf to kick off fall season at Drake Creek Invitational

APSU Women's Golf - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf opens the fall portion of its 2016-17 campaign with a trip to Ledbetter, Kentucky for the Drake Creek Invitational.

The Govs, who finished fifth in last year’s edition of Murray State’s fall tournament, return a full complement to this year’s event, held at Drake Creek Golf Club—a par-72 measuring out at 6,178 yards.

Chris Horton grabs 1000th rebound, Josh Robinson scores 30

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TNJosh Robinson scored a career-high 30 points, including a Dunn Center record 14-of-14 free throws, while Chris Horton snatched his 1,000th career rebound as Austin Peay State University held off Wofford, 84-77, Tuesday night, in non-conference basketball action.

The victory was the Govs’ second straight and pulled them one game shy of .500 at 6-7.

APSU Governors Basketball foul troubles lead to 85-68 loss at IPFW

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUFort Wayne, IN – It was like trying to eat fruit with milk or drink milk with steak….things that just don’t go together.

Seniors Chris Horton and Khalil Davis picked up their respective third and fourth fouls early in the second half with the Governors leading IPFW by four points. At the same time those two were forced to exit IPFW senior guard Max Landis caught on fire from the perimeter.

APSU Governors Basketball edges Samford Bulldogs 74-73 for third straight win

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TNKenny Jones scored a season-high 23 points, but it was junior guard Josh Robinson who sealed the verdict with a pair of free throws with eight seconds left as Austin Peay State University held off Samford, 74-73, in non-conference basketball action, Saturday night, in Dave Aaron Arena.

The victory was the third straight for the 3-4 Governors, who halted 5-2 Samford’s five-game winning streak in the process.
