Despite having their SEC-leading eight-game win streak snapped at the Georgia Bulldogs, the Vols still carry a five-game home winning streak into Saturday’s contest against the Wildcats.

Tennessee Vols’ eight-game win streak snapped in Athens Georgia
Athens, GA – Despite leading third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs at halftime Saturday, the 12th-ranked Tennessee Vols football team fell short of pulling off the upset, falling by a score of 44-21 at Sanford Stadium.
Georgia (3-0) held Tennessee scoreless and outgained UT 206-71 in the second half to snap the Vols’ eight-game win streak.
Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano threw a pair of touchdown passes to Josh Palmer Saturday. Sophomore tailback Eric Gray was Tennessee’s leading rusher and receiver, finishing with career-highs in receptions (8) and receiving yards (54).
Knoxville, TN – No. 21/20 Tennessee (2-0) rushed for four touchdowns and used a punishing defensive performance to extend its win streak to eight consecutive games following a 35-12 triumph over Missouri (0-2) on Saturday in Neyland Stadium.
The victory improved the Vols record in home openers to 98-20-5. UT’s eight-game win streak is the second-longest for the program since 1998, and the 23-point win is Tennessee’s largest margin of victory over an SEC opponent since a 63-37 victory against Missouri on November 9th, 2016.
Columbia, S.C. – The 16th-ranked Tennessee football team found the end zone in all four quarters during a hard-fought road win over South Carolina Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Volunteers have now triumphed in seven straight games, dating to last season.
A special teams mistake by South Carolina (0-1) in the game’s closing moments secured the victory for UT (1-0), as true freshman Jimmy Holiday secured a muffed punt deep in Gamecocks territory.
Jacksonville, FL – A late fourth-quarter charge, where the Vols scored 14 points in the final quarter propelled Tennessee Vols football team to a 23-22 win over Indiana in the 75th TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in TIAA Bank Stadium.
