New Orleans scored in the first inning on an RBI double by Isan Diaz that scored Eddy Alvarez. That would be the only run scored in the first three innings by either team. The Sounds were close to scoring in the bottom of the third inning when they loaded the bases. Nashville Sounds rally late to beat New Orleans Baby Cakes, 3-2
The first run of the game was scored by New Orleans in the first inning. Magneuris Sierra led the game off with a single and scored on an Eddy Alvarez double to put the Baby Cakes up 1-0. Tim Dillard was dominant after the first inning. He struck out a season-high nine batters through six innings. Nashville Sounds blast three homers in the ninth to beat New Orleans Baby Cakes, 6-5
The homers came off former Sound R.J. Alvarez and turned a 5-3 deficit into a 6-5 lead. Pill’s homer was his first as a Sound and led off the ninth. Then Wisdom crushed the first pitch he saw over the left field wall to tie the game at 5-5. Oklahoma City (3-4) used a four-run first inning against Nashville (3-4) starter Daniel Gossett to take control of the game. Leadoff hitter Chris Taylor walked to start the contest and quickly moved to third on Willie Calhoun’s base hit to right field. Gossett struck out O’Koyea Dickson, but a fielding error by right fielder Andrew Lambo allowed Taylor to score, and another batter to reach.
