Making a spot start, Carlos Ramirez gave the Sounds all they could ask for. The right-hander went a career-long four innings in his first career start and blanked the Baby Cakes in those four frames. He yielded three hits on the night without walking anyone. Offensively the Sounds had no answer for New Orleans’ Dillon Peters, who kept the Sounds’ batters off balance all night long. The southpaw collected a dozen punch outs to set a new career-high and retired the final ten batters he faced. After being silenced for much of the day by the Sky Sox pitching staff, the Sounds finally broke through with two outs in the top of the ninth inning. Chris Parmelee ripped a double to get the rally started. The next six batters to come to the plate would reach base. The win was just the second for the Sounds all season in a game when they trailed after seven innings. Nashville is now 2-8 in such games. Melvin Mercedes wasted no time settling in on a chilly evening in Colorado Springs. The second baseman ripped a triple to right field. The Nashville Sounds found themselves in a 2-0 hole before getting a chance to hit. Rain and thunderstorms rolled into Colorado Springs in the bottom of the sixth inning Saturday night. After retiring Lewis Brinson via a ground out, Sounds reliever Eduard Santos bounced a fast ball in the dirt with Garrett Cooper batting. Nashville Sounds win back and forth game against Colorado Springs Sky Sox
Trailing 3-2 entering the fourth, the Sounds plated five runs to take a 7-3 lead over the Sky Sox. Joey Wendle led off the inning with a single to right, and after Colin Walsh struck out, Rangel Ravelo and Bryan Anderson would both walk to load the bases. Arismendy Alcantara then tied the game at 3-3 on an RBI single scoring Wendle from third. Nashville Sounds stop Colorado Springs Sky Sox rally for 5-4 win
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, Sounds reliever Eduard Santos worked himself out of a jam. Santos got Sky Sox Andrew Susac to hit a ground ball to Chad Pinder who stepped on second to preserve the 5-4 Sounds win. J.B. Wendelken started the Sounds ninth as he came on with two outs in the eighth inning to replace Angel Castro as the Sounds lead 5-2. Josmil Pinto led off the ninth with a walk to start the Sky Sox rally.
