Hopkinsville Community College selected Heritage Christian Academy & Trigg High students to participate in near-space balloon Launch

 

Hopkinsville Community CollegeHopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College’s Balloon Satellite Club reached out to area high schools and asked that they submit experiment proposals for consideration to be a part of a spring balloon satellite launch into near-space.

Heritage Christian Academy (HCA) and Trigg County High School (TCHS) are the winning schools and will have their experiments fly on the NASA-sponsored launch scheduled for Friday, April 15th at a window between 11:30am- noon, lifting off from the grass area off of HCC’s North Drive campus entrance.

Tennessee Titans Make Roster Changes to Get down to 75 Player Limit Sunday

The team released 11 players, including:

Tennessee Titans add to Roster

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have added tight end Joey Haynos and wide receiver Marcus Harris to the roster.

Haynos (6-8, 270) has two years of NFL playing experience with the Miami Dolphins. He has played 23 career games and recorded 21 receptions, 184 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Last season, he spent the year on injured reserve with a foot injury after playing in all 16 games in 2009, including eight starts, 19 receptions and two touchdowns. «Read the rest of this article»

Racers outduel Govs football on Senior Day

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football team lost a shoot-out to Murray State, 61-35, Saturday, in Ohio Valley Conference action played at Governors Stadium.  

For the second time this season, senior Terrence Holt and junior Ryan White each rushed for 100-plus yards in a losing effort. Holt finished with 140 yards on 14 carries, including a season-high three touchdowns. He also had 189 yards on kick returns, totaling 338 all-purpose yards. White had one touchdown on 119 yards, carrying the ball 21 times.

Holt’s first TD run, a 44-yard, third-down run, cut Murray State’s lead to 21-14 at the beginning of the second quarter. The Racers answered with a 18-yard touchdown run by Casey Brockman, and then back-to-back field goals to make it 34-14 at the break.

Austin Peay Governors football vs. Murray State Racers

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Thirteen seniors will be honored prior to kickoff on Senior Day.

Since rejoining the Ohio Valley Conference the Governors own a 1-2 record against Murray State. The Govs lost in Murray, 27-17, in 2009.

Austin Peay enters the contest on a six-game losing streak. The Govs have endured at least a six-game losing streak five times since the new millennium, the longest losing streak (eight games) coming in the 2003 season.

Senior running back Terrence Holt made his first career start at running back against UT Martin. Even though he has shared the running back duties with Ryan White for the past two seasons, the latter always has drawn the starting nod until last Saturday.
