Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University football was picked ninth in the Ohio Valley Conference by a vote of the conference coaches and sports information directors announced Monday at the annual OVC Media Day.
Defending champion Jacksonville State was the top preseason choice for a third straight year, picking up 16 of 18 first-place votes and 128 points total.

Clarksville, TN – Marcus West elected to follow Will Healy from Chattanooga to Clarksville and takes over as Austin Peay State University co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach in 2016. Previously, West spent seven seasons with the Mocs, coaching the defensive line.
West’s time in Chattanooga coincided with Chattanooga’s rise from Southern Conference also-ran to perennial conference champion.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Govs Football’s Will Healy making headway as National Signing Day approaches
Clarksville, TN – New Austin Peay State University head football coach Will Healy stated he and his staff were going to get it done in recruiting, when he was introduced at Governors Stadium on December 23rd, 2015, and with National Signing Day looming on February 3rd it looks like statement is coming to fruition.
Healy, who is the second youngest head coach in Division I at 30 years of age, has looked to make the most of the 33 days since making that statement with what seems like commitment additions to his probable first recruiting class every few day or so.
