City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts has outlined the process the City will use to recruit a successor to Clarksville Fire Rescue Chief Michael Roberts, who announced in January that he will retire July 31st, 2019 after 20 years in the position.

“This will be the first department head search for my administration,” Mayor Pitts said. “Without a doubt, this will be an important hire, and one we will not take lightly.”

Clarksville Fire RescueClarksville, TN – Chief Michael Roberts, a homegrown firefighter and executive who has led Clarksville Fire Rescue since 1999, has announced he will retire from the post July 31st.

Over the past 20 years, Chief Roberts has presided over a period of dramatic growth in the department, which now has 12 fire stations and 235 firefighters and support personnel.

“It’s been an absolute honor to serve as chief of this great department and to serve the citizens of this outstanding city,” Roberts said.

Clarksville 9/11 Ceremony Honors Fallen Heroes

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Fire Rescue presented its annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Monday evening, September 11th, 2017 at the city’s main fire station. A large crowd was present for the event, which marked the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in 2001.

Guest speakers included Clarksville Fire Rescue Chief Michael Roberts, who paid tribute to all firefighters and first responders who lost their lives on 9/11, and Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

The ceremony honors the commitment and ultimate sacrifice of hundreds of New York City Firefighters who selflessly responded after the World Trade Center’s twin towers were attacked by terrorists on September 11th, 2001.

She replaced Hope Petersen, who accepted the Supervisor Position at the Robertson County 911 Center.

The Dispatch Director position plays a vital role in the emergency response process.

Clarksville Fire Rescue to wear pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness month

 

Clarksville Fire RescueClarksville, TN – On October 4th, 2012, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will join Fire Chief Michael Roberts and Clarksville Fire Rescue in presenting a check to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Members of the Clarksville Fire Rescue Department devised an idea for special t-shirts which could be sold to their staff and supporters. Another staffer helped design the shirt.
