Fort Campbell Soldiers, Retirees lend hand to Support Community

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Soldiers and retirees are giving back to their community by volunteering at the Fort Campbell Child Nutrition Program food distribution sites, helping to package and hand out meals while following COVID-19 Coronavirus safety protocols.

To support Army Families during the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the Fort Campbell Child Nutrition Program is offering free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals for children up to the age of 18.

Soldiers with the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program and even retirees have joined the volunteer force to help keep distribution sites running.

Peyton Williams wins Mayor’s Golf Tournament, Brad Van Kirk completes Senior Slam

 

Clarksville, TN – Peyton Williams led wire-to-wire to win the 35th Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament, Sept. 14th at Swan Lake Golf Course, while Brad Van Kirk completed the Clarksville area Senor Grand Slam by taking the Senior Division title.

For Williams, a freshman on the Trevecca Nazarene University golf team, it’s his first area major title – as he finished with a two-day total of even-par 142 (68-74) to finish two shots ahead of Steven Reigle (73-71=144), while also earning a spot in the Tournament of Champions.

Tyler Guy, Hunter Richardson overcome slow start to win Bud Light Two-Man Scramble

 

Clarksville Golf AssociationClarksville, TN – Despite not getting their first birdie until the fifth hole, Sunday, June 22nd at Swan Lake Golf Course, the duo of Tyler Guy and Hunter Richardson went wire-to-wire to claim the tournament championship in the 2014 Bud Light Two-Man Scramble.

Guy and Richardson, who will be collegiate teammates at the University of Tennessee at Martin this coming fall, held a three shot lead heading into the final 18 holes, but saw that lead dwindle over the first nine holes of play.

Tyler Guy, Hunter Richardson lead Bud Light Two-Man Scramble after opening-round 57

 

Clarksville Golf AssociationClarksville, TN – Tyler Guy and Hunter Richardson will be applying their golf skills with the University of Tennessee at Martin this coming fall, but showed a little early teamwork June 21st at Swan Lake Gold Course, as the pair combined to shot an opening-round 57 (14 under) to lead the Bud Light Two-Man Scramble by three shots.

Guy — who will be a junior — and Richardson, an incoming freshman for the Skyhawks this fall, were the only team to post a round in the 50’s, with the teams of Brian Balthrop and Josh Black, Johnathan Sewell and Sam Gentry, Greg Guinn and Todd Greene, and Rob Clouser and Steven Huff all coming in with opening rounds of 60.

Clarksville Senior City Amateur title won by Joey Long with birdie on final hole

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Joey Long birdied the final hole, August 4th at Swan Lake Golf Course, to hold off Brad Van Kirk and Greg Guinn to defend the Heritage Bank Clarksville Senior City Amateur title by a shot.

Long became the first golfer to defend the title since Harold Hensley turned the trick back in 2006 and 2007.

Jeff Chandler, Greg Guinn lead after first round of Commanding General’s Golf Tournament at Fort Campbell’s Cole Park Golf Course

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Familiar names are atop the leaderboard after the June 8th first round of the Commanding General’s Golf Tournament, at Cole Park Golf Course, with Jeff Chandler leading the Open Division and Greg Guinn setting the pace in the Senior Division.

The tournament concludes June 9th with the final 18 holes, starting with the first tee times beginning at 7:00am.

Chandler fired a six-under 66 to lead a group of eight golfers that carded under-par rounds on the opening day – with Drew Miller just a shot back with a five-under 67, which included a bogie on the final hole of the day.
