Fort Campbell’s 129th Combat Sustainment operations keep 2nd Brigade Combat Team “Strike” in the fight

Fort Polk, LA – When 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldiers found out that they were schedule to train at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, one major topic was being talked about in the “box” – the area in which Soldiers train for war. Before the “Strike” Soldiers can reach the box to train, there are numerous steps that need to happen before the real-world training can begin.

That’s where sustainment operations come in.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau orders Auto Loan program Partners to Refund about $6.5 million to Servicemembers

United States Consumer Financial Protection BureauWashington, D.C. – If you are a servicemember who participated in the Military Installment Loans and Educational Services (MILES) auto loan program operated by U.S. Bank and its nonbank partner, Dealers’ Financial Services (DFS), you may benefit from an order we announced today.

As a result of this enforcement action, U.S. Bank and DFS must return about $6.5 million to servicemembers for failing to properly disclose an allotment fee charged to participants, as well as the  timing of the allotment payments.  «Read the rest of this article»

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau tells what you should know about Military Allotments

United States Consumer Financial Protection BureauWashington, D.C. – Today, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced a public enforcement action against U.S. Bank and Dealer’s Financial Services (DFS).

At issue was the way they used the military discretionary allotment system to have servicemembers pay for cars bought through the MILES (Military Installment Loan and Education Services) Program.
