Nashville, TN – In Week 7 of the 2014 season, the Tennessee Titans fell to 2-5 on the season after suffering a 19-17 defeat to the Washington Redskins.
With QB Jake Locker inactive for a second consecutive week due to a thumb injury, QB Charlie Whitehurst made his third start of the season. He completed 17 of 26 passes for 160 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The Titans defense finished the day with three sacks and forced two turnovers.

However, center Brian Schwenke gets called for illegal use of hands pushing Tennessee back 10 yards. Three plays later, the Titans punt the ball back to the Redskins.

Nashville, TN – The Titans (3-3) host the Indianapolis Colts (0-7) this week in the second of three consecutive home games. Kickoff at LP Field (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, October 30th. The Colts are the Titans’ second consecutive AFC South opponent.
Last week, they hosted the now-first-place Houston Texans (4-3) but were unable to keep up in a 41-7 defeat. With their win, the Texans took sole possession of first place in the division. The Jaguars (1-5 entering Monday night’s game vs. Baltimore) and Colts are in third and fourth place, respectively. The Titans will be playing their 100th regular season game at LP Field this week. Indianapolis, IN – The Indianapolis Colts are back in the playoffs.
And they look like they’re ready to defend their AFC championship, too.
Peyton Manning threw two touchdown passes, the defense limited Chris Johnson to 39 yards rushing and the always-clutch Adam Vinatieri booted a 43-yard field goal as time expired Sunday to give the Colts a 23-20 victory over the Tennessee Titans. They earned their seventh — and most improbable — AFC South title in eight seasons.
“We know what they were up against and how difficult it was and to overcome all that and win the division,” owner Jim Irsay said, “it is extra special.”
Tennessee Titans (6-9) at Indianapolis Colts (9-6)
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (6-9) conclude their 2010 season this week, as they travel to Indianapolis to face the division-rival Colts (9-6). Kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium (capacity 63,000) is scheduled for 3:15pm CST on Sunday, January 2nd.

Nashville, TN – So much for the worst slump of Peyton Manning’s career.
Manning threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns, and the Indianapolis Colts snapped their three-game skid by beating the Tennessee Titans 30-28 on Thursday night to stay just a half-game back in the AFC South.
“Hopefully we can sort of build off this win,” Manning said. “Nobody likes losing three in a row.”
The four-time NFL MVP put his atypical struggles behind him with a crisp performance against a defense that hasn’t intercepted a pass in 14 straight quarters. He completed 25 of 35 passes in his 63rd 300-yard game, tying Dan Marino for tops on the career list.
Back where he starred in college at the University of Tennessee, Manning nearly had a third touchdown pass but rookie receiver Blair White broke up a pass intended for Reggie Wayne in the end zone. «Read the rest of this article»
