Tennessee County Unemployment Rates Increase in July

 

Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce DevelopmentNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) released data that shows July 2019 county unemployment increased in counties across the state.

Montgomery County unemployment in July was 4.8 percent up 0.4 percent from June’s 4.4 percent.

Montgomery County Ranks Second-Highest of all Tennessee Counties for Tourism Growth

 

Visitor Spending in Montgomery County Tops $244.7 Million in 2018

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Out of 95 Tennessee counties, Montgomery County saw the second-highest growth rate in tourism spending of all in 2018. Direct travel spending increased 9.12% over 2017, for a record-high of $244.7 million. 

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Department of Tourist Development Commissioner Mark Ezell announced Tuesday that the state hit a record-high $22 billion in domestic and international travel spending, up 6% from 2017.

Tennessee Unemployment Rates Drop in 94 Counties During April

 

Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce DevelopmentNashville, TN – According to data released Thursday by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce, unemployment rates for 94 of Tennessee’s 95 counties dropped in April 2019  Development (TDLWD).

Montgomery County unemployment dropped 0.6 percent to 3.0 percent in April from March’s 3.6 percent.

AT&T Expands High-Speed Internet in Communities across Tennessee

 

AT&TNashville, TNAT&T* has expanded internet access in communities throughout Tennessee to better serve those in rural and urban areas alike.

As part of our FCC Connect America Fund commitment, AT&T has deployed high-speed internet service to rural and underserved locations in parts of 51 counties serving more than 37,000 Tennessee locations.

Tennessee Counties End 2017 With Continued Low Unemployment

Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce DevelopmentNashville, TN – Tennessee County unemployment rates released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) show unemployment remained below 5 percent in an overwhelming majority of the state’s 95 counties during December 2017.

Unemployment in Clarksville-Montgomery County dropped from 3.8 percent in November to 3.4 percent in December and is down 1.9 percent from December 2016’s unemployment rate of 5.3 percent.

Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce DevelopmentNashville, TN – Nearly all Tennessee counties continued to have unemployment rates below 5.0 percent in October 2017, following a record-breaking September when, for the first time ever, each of the state’s 95 counties experienced a rate below 5.0 percent.

October marked the fifth consecutive month Tennessee’s statewide unemployment rate was in record territory, matching the all-time low of 3.0 percent set the month before.

This is the second consecutive month rates have declined in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties. 

September also marked the fourth consecutive month Tennessee experienced a historic low statewide unemployment rate.
