I’ve seen a lot of young people in Clarksville use sports as a vehicle to advance their education. Baseball, football, soccer, tennis and golf are typically the activities you see kids participating in. But, rodeo?
Colorado Springs, CO – I traveled to Colorado recently and after a couple of hard days of riding, I was yearning for a good steak. The Saltgrass Steak House was just down the road from where I was staying, so I had to give it a try.
They refer to themselves as “the original Texas Steakhouse” and after slicing into my rib-eye, I could understand.
Their story dates back to the 1800’s, according to their website, when millions of Longhorns roamed freely throughout Texas. With the taste for beef becoming a newfound favorite in the North, Texas ranchers prospered as never before.
Golden Pond, KY – Wranglers Campground at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will host the 18th Annual Primitive Rodeo, Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th. The rodeo is open to the public. Admission is $10.00 ages 12 and up and $5.00 ages 11 and under.
Wranglers’ staff recommends people bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Coolers are prohibited; food vendors will be available. In addition, camping at Wranglers will be half-price on Friday and Saturday.
Golden Pond, KY – Wranglers Campground at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will host the 17th Annual Rodeo and Grand Jubilee Friday and Saturday, July 19th and 20th.
Enjoy half price camping, games, and other activities for the kids, as well as a rodeo starting at 8:00pm both nights.
Clarksville, TN – The Downtown Kiwanis Club is currently hosting its 26th annual Kiwanis Rodeo and the festivities continue tonight at the Montgomery County 4-H Arena located at 1924 Rossview Road. The Rodeo opened last night to a sell out crowd. Tonight the gates open at 6:00pm and the Rodeo starts at 8:00pm. The Kiwanis Rodeo has been sanctioned by the PRCA and WPRA.
Events include calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, and bull riding and more. There are also various contests, games, and a kids zone with inflatables.
Clarksville, TN – The Downtown Kiwanis Club is hosting its annual Kiwanis Rodeo at the Montgomery County 4-H Arena Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st.
The gates open at 6:00pm and the Rodeo starts at 8:00pm both nights. This is a PRCA and WPRA sanctioned Rodeo.

Golden Pond, KY – Visit Wranglers Campground at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area July 15th-16th, for the 15th Annual Grand Jubilee and Primitive Rodeo. Wranglers Campground is located 5 miles south of Golden Pond Visitor Center.

The Downtown Kiwanis Club is currently hosting its 25th annual rodeo at the Clarksville, Montgomery County Fairgrounds. The rodeo opened on Friday, June 12th and will continue on Saturday, June 13th at 8pm. Tickets can be pre-purchased at area Wendy’s Restaurants and are $10. If you wait to purchase your tickets at the gate, the cost increases to $15.
