Tennessee Titans last contest against Detroit Lions

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Behind the arm of quarterback Marcus Mariota, the Tennessee Titans overcame a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter for just the fourth time in the Titans era—and first time since 2006—to defeat the Detroit Lions 16-15 at Ford Field and move to 1-1 on the season.

The Detroit defense controlled the game from early in the first quarter, when Lions defensive end Devin Taylor tackled running back DeMarco Murray in the end zone for a safety.

Tennessee Titans game history against Cleveland Browns

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – This week’s game marks the 68th all-time meeting between the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns. In the previous 67 outings, the Browns own a 35-32 advantage, including separate nine- and six-game winning streaks by the Browns.

However, the Titans have taken the last three battles. The Titans’ nine-game losing streak against the Browns from 1970-74 is tied (Oakland, 1966-73) for the second-longest in franchise history. The clubs have played one playoff game, a 24-23 Wild Card win by the Oilers in 1988.

Tennessee Titans last game against Chicago Bears

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – On a chilly day in Chicago, the Tennessee Titans held off a fourth quarter surge by the Bears to clinch a 27-21 win at Soldier Field, improving to 6-6 on the season.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota turned in a masterful performance, completing 15 of 23 passes for 226 yards, two touchdowns and a 126.4 rating. Mariota also extended his streak to eight consecutive games with at least two touchdowns, joining Dan Marino (10 in 1984) as the second NFL quarterback in his first or second year to record a streak of eight or more games in a season with at least two touchdown passes.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 10 of the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans had their second consecutive home game as they hosted the Cincinnati Bengals and won by a score of 24-20.

After forcing the Bengals to go three-and-out on Cincinnati’s opening drive, Tennessee took control of the scoreboard early with a 10-play, 84-yard scoring drive. RB DeMarco Murray rushed in his first touchdown of the day, a two-yarder to put the Titans up 7-0 early.

Tennessee Titans last game against Pittsburgh Steelers

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 11 of the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans traveled to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a primetime Thursday Night Football showdown and lost by a score of 40-17.

The Pittsburgh offense took a quick 7-0 lead as Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger led his team on a 75-yard scoring drive capped off by a 41-yard touchdown pass to Steelers WR Antonio Brown. Tennessee took the field for its first offensive possession, but on the third play of the drive QB Marcus Mariota threw a 26-yard interception to Steelers CB Mike Hilton.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans-Houston Texans rivalry is in its 19th year since the expansion Texans began play and the AFC South was formed in 2002. In 36 games, the Titans are 19-17 against the Texans, including an 11-7 mark at Nissan Stadium and an 8-10 record at NRG Stadium.

In the last four seasons, the Titans and Texans have split the annual series. The home team took each game from 2016 to 2018 before the road teams won in 2019.

Tennessee Titans last game against Minnesota Vikings

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In what became a tale of two halves, the Tennessee Titans dropped a 25-16 decision to the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener at Nissan Stadium. Despite holding a 10-0 halftime lead, three second-half turnovers by the Titans, two of which were returned for scores, allowed the Vikings to take control late in the game.

Tennessee took an early lead in the first quarter on a 28-yard field goal by K Ryan Succop, and then constructed a 13-play, 73-yard drive late in the second quarter, capped by a six-yard touchdown pass from QB Marcus Mariota to RB DeMarco Murray.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Jacksonville Jaguars are the Tennessee Titans’ longest-standing division rival. The clubs have met at least twice each year since Jacksonville began play as an expansion franchise in 1995. For the first seven seasons of the rivalry they played in the AFC Central, and since 2002 they have been members of the AFC South.

The teams have met a total of 51 times, with the Titans holding a 30-21 advantage. For eight consecutive seasons (2009–2016), the Titans and Jaguars split the annual series before Tennessee took both matchups in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, the they exchanged wins once again.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs are historic rivals that played an integral role in the formation of the current NFL landscape.

In 1959, late Titans owner K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. and the late Lamar Hunt, founder of the Chiefs, spearheaded the “Foolish Club,” a group of eight original American Football League teams that would begin play in 1960.

Tennessee Titans last game against New England Patriots

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 10 of the 2018 season, the Tennessee Titans hosted the New England Patriots and won by a score of 34-10.

On the opening kickoff, WR Darius Jennings returned the ball 58 yards and helped set the tone for Tennessee. As the Titans offense took the field, QB Marcus Mariota constructed a seven-play, 40-yard scoring drive that resulted in a four-yard touchdown pass to TE Jonnu Smith, as Tennessee put up points early, 7-0.

New England’s offense took the field and responded with their own scoring drive.
