Local Law Enforcement holds Distracted Driving Bus Tour

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – On July 23rd, 2019, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) conducted a bus tour to increase awareness of the new Hands Free Tennessee law.

Law enforcement rode in an unmarked bus and after observing traffic violations, communicated to ground units to initiate traffic stops. Law enforcement focused on drivers using their cell phones while their vehicles were in motion.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office requests help finding Vehicle Burglary Suspects

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating suspects responsible for multiple vehicle burglaries on Merritt Lewis Lane early Tuesday morning, April 9th, 2019 between 1:00am. and 4:30am.

Three vehicles were burglarized and an additional four vehicles were unlawfully entered and rummaged through.

The suspects stole a rifle, three firearms magazines, binoculars, tools, camera, hand and power tools, and financial paperwork.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) joined the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to help kickoff Operation Incognito on November 13th, 2018.

The Operation Incognito campaign was developed as part of a statewide distracted driving enforcement initiative and promoted National Traffic Incident Response Week, which occurs November 11th–17th, 2018.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigates string of Stolen Vehicles

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating suspects responsible for a string of car thefts that occurred in the Sango and Adams area of Montgomery County.

The thefts occurred between August 3rd, 2018 and August 7th, 2018 on Bryan Road, Boulder Court, Prince Drive, and Ivy Bend Circle.

A total of six vehicles were stolen. A 2017 GMC Sierra, 2016 GMC Sierra, 2016 Nissan Maxima, 2014 Ford Expedition, 2014 Volkswagen Passat, and a 2010 Mazda CX. All the vehicles have been recovered except for the Passat.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office helps Rotary Club give away 24 Bicycles

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Sunrise Rotary Club and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) with the help of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) gave away 24 bicycles to local elementary school students.

The students were selected by the school resource officer and school administration from their respective elementary schools. Each student was chosen because he or she best represented the spirit of their school.

The bicycles were purchased by the Sunrise Rotary Club and RYLA.

Agencies participate by providing information and increasing awareness in their communities about the importance of sharing the road and looking twice for motorcyclists.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office discovers Reshipping Scam to move Stolen Merchandise

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recovered over $10,000 in stolen property during an investigation into credit card fraud.

Items recovered include four sonic firearms cleaners, underground cable locator, dehumidifier, professional level sets, pizza cooker, industrial heaters, medical equipment, air pumps, electronics, and numerous other items. A total 44 packages were recovered.

During the course of the investigation into the fraudulent credit card charges, investigators discovered criminals were using a reshipping scam to move the stolen merchandise.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducts Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event classes

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted 12 Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event (CRASE) classes last year. The course was taught to schools, churches, nonprofit organizations, and large businesses.

Several churches in the county hosted a CRASE training class and opened their doors to other churches to attend. One of the largest classes was held at First Baptist Clarksville Church located on Madison Street. Over 200 people attended the class.

Other classes were held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Salem United Methodist Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, Workforce Essentials, and Hankook Tire.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department and Bikers Who Care hold Secret Santa Money Giveaway

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Christmas spirit was in full force over the weekend as Bikers Who Care (BWC) partnered with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Clarksville Police Department to pass out Christmas cash to unsuspecting residents.

Deputy Ryan Wright, Deputy Brooke Sinitiere, Officer Pete Millan and Officer Alex Koziol, along with a team of men from BWC distributed $4000 to citizens on Saturday. They stopped motorist or shoppers and presented them with $100.00 each in cash.
