Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court “All Rise for Exercise” session

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) Judge Ken Goble Jr. met with participants of the program at the Austin Peay Foy Fitness Center Tuesday June 27th for the Summer 2017 session of “All Rise for Exercise.”

All Rise is a one-hour workout session that promotes a positive activity for many struggling with the effects of PTSD and other substance abuse and mental health issues.

Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court held All Rise for Exercise event, June 14th

 

Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – “PT for PTSD” was the motto of the day at All Rise for Exercise, an event created by the Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court (VTC). On June 14th, 2016, Austin Peay’s Foy Fitness and Recreation Center opened their doors to VTC participants, staff, and Judge Kenneth R. Goble Jr.

All Rise for Exercise is a one hour workout session where participants enjoy the benefits of physical activity.

APSU Student Athletes claim 19 Ohio Valley Conference Academic Medal of Honor Recipients

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsBrentwood, TN — Austin Peay State University saw 92 student-athletes recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference as part of its annual academic achievement awards, July 25th.

The OVC annually recognizes those student-athletes who excel in the classroom. The league’s Medal of Honor recognizes those student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade-point average in their conference-sponsored sport.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsMartin, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team battled regular season champion  UT Martin in Sunday’s Ohio Valley Conference Championship match but two late goals by the hosts were too much for the Lady Govs to overcome. Austin Peay fell to UT Martin, 2-0, in the 2012 OVC Tournament Championship match at Skyhawk Field.

The Lady Govs host Tennessee Tech, 7:00pm, Friday, and Jacksonville State, 2:00pm, Sunday, in two match-ups that will have direct bearing on Austin Peay’s placement in November’s Ohio Valley Conference Soccer Tournament.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Soccer drops opener at Arkansas

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsFayetteville, AR – A late goal deprived Austin Peay State University’s women’s soccer team of its first-ever decision against Arkansas, Friday night. The Lady Govs fell to the Razorbacks 2-1 in the 2012 regular-season opener.

“We made huge strides from our game against Evansville to today,” said head coach Kelley Guth. “Obviously we were hoping for a different result but I couldn’t have been prouder of how the girls played tonight.”

Austin Peay Lady Govs Soccer opens 2012 Season with Arkansas Road Trip

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team returns 11 starters and a host of contributors from last season’s 8-9-1 squad, including two Olympians and an All-Ohio Valley Conference performer.

The Lady Govs open play at 7:00pm, Friday, in Fayetteville, AR against SEC foe Arkansas. Austin Peay swings through Little Rock for a 1:00pm, Sunday, match-up against UALR.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsNashville, TN – After a wave of injuries caused them to stumble down the stretch and miss the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament last season, Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team has been picked eighth in the OVC’s 2012 preseason soccer poll, the conference office announced Wednesday.

37 APSU student-athletes conferred degrees Friday

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – A record 1,075 graduate were awarded degree at Austin Peay State University’s 83rd Spring Commencement and 37 were student-athletes.

They were part of graduation ceremonies in the Dunn Center as both a morning and afternoon commencements were held Friday.

The seniors athletes were part of a graduating class that saw record numbers earn Athletics Directors Honor Roll recognition and a department grade-point average that approach 3.0 annually.
