Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Military Alumni Chapter and the APSU National Alumni Association hosted the Military Alumni Chapter Homecoming Dinner on Friday, October 26th, 2018. A reception was held at 5:30pm prior to the dinner.

All funds raised through ticket sales were designated to benefit the CW3 (R) Scott Schroeder Scholarship Endowment and the Mrs. Joyce Luster Scholarship Endowment for deserving APSU students.

Brower, former deputy commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division, joined Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) senior leadership team as the institution’s first military adviser in residence.

In this new role, Brower will advise the APSU leadership team on how the University can better serve its military students and help the University optimize the process of recruiting, enrolling and graduating military-connected students.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Brigadier General Scott E. Brower, former deputy commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division, will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s summer commencement at 2:00pm on August 10th, 2018 in the APSU Dunn Center.

Brower, a Passaic, New Jersey native, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1989 and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery.

Fort Campbell releases update on Active Shooter incident

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) soldier was apprehended this afternoon by military police after they responded to a report of shots fired near Campbell Army Airfield.

The soldier allegedly entered Hangar 8 on the airfield at approximately 11:30am and fired two shots. Installation law enforcement was notified and immediately responded. The soldier fled the hangar in his privately owned vehicle and law enforcement pursued.

During the pursuit, the soldier hit another vehicle but was able to continue his flight to his on-post residence. He attempted to leave his vehicle on foot, but was subdued by law enforcement and taken into custody.

Fort Campbell’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team “Strike” cases colors in preparation for deployment to Iraq

Fort Campbell, KY – The ceremony marks the 4th time the storied brigade cased its’ colors in preparation for a deployment to Iraq; the 7th overall in support of the Global War on Terror.

Little remains known about Strike’s impending mission, however, their focal point will be advising and assisting Iraqi counterparts against insurgents.

The Strike brigade will join the Screaming Eagle’s headquarters, who deployed to the region a few short weeks ago. Units within Strike will be deployed throughout several locations in both Iraq and Kuwait.

101st Airborne Division welcomes new acting Senior Commander at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Soldiers and leaders from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell gathered to welcome their new acting senior commander at an Honor Eagle ceremony Tuesday in the division headquarters building here.

Brig. Gen. Scott E. Brower, who is returning to Fort Campbell for his fourth assignment will take interim responsibility of Fort Campbell and its units from Maj. Gen. Gary J. Volesky, Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

“Over 90 percent of the division is going to remain here and we need a competent and reliable leader to sustain readiness and take care of our Soldiers and Family members while we’re deployed,” Volesky said during the ceremony. “And Scott is exactly the right officer to fill this critical role.”
