Fort Campbell celebrates the birth of our nation with a bang!

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell and the surrounding communities came together to celebrate the 4th of July, Independence Day with a bang at Fort Campbell’s USAA and MWR’s (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) Independence Day Carnival and Fireworks display.

“This is what we’re here for! We’re here to celebrate the birth of our nation, our soldiers and their families, and our civilians workers. They give so much to us and this is our way of giving back to them especially today on our nation’s birthday,” said Rayna Holly from the Fort Campbell Public Affiars Office.

Fort Campbell salutes America’s Soldiers on Independence Day

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – The 4th of July festivities concluded  with the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Welcome Home Concert and Fireworks Show. The event expresses the communities gratitude for the sacrifices that the soldiers and their families at Fort Campbell makes for our country.

The day opened with an invocation, followed by a short speech by 101st Airborne Division Commander Maj. Gen. John F. Campbell in which he dedicated the day to those both here at home, and in off in far flung war zones who are serving our country.

Fort Campbell Independence Day Celebration Tonight

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell will host its annual Independence Day Celebration at the Fort Campbell’s Division Parade Field tonight, July 4th, at 7:00pm. The show will include performances by the Screaming Eagles Parachute Demonstration Team, a 50-gun Salute to the Union, posting of the Colors and fireworks display in addition to free concert by Laura Bell Bundy and Jacob Lyda.

101st Parachute Team to Perform at APSU Football Game

 

Austin Peay State University LogoThe 101st Airborne Division Parachute Demonstration Team, the “Screaming Eagles”, will be performing a parachute demonstration skydive for the Austin Peay State University football game at Governor’s Stadium in Clarksville, Tennessee, on Saturday at 5:40 p.m.

The 101st Airborne Division Parachute Demonstration Team originated in 1958 during the infancy of precision freefall, and is the Army’s oldest parachute demonstration team. Early team members were soldiers who volunteered their free time in order to perform quality parachute demonstrations. In 1984 the 101st Command Group opted to form a full time parachute team, and they are known as the “Screaming Eagles”.

Fort Campbell has 4th of July show planned

 

freedom_fest_09_thumbnailFort Campbell will host its annual Independence Day Celebration beginning at 7 p.m. July 4.

The show will include performances by the Screaming Eagles Parachute Demonstration Team, a concert by the 198th Army Band from Rochester, N.Y., fifty-gun salute to the states, posting of the colors, and a fireworks display.
