Nashville Ballet Gifts 2,500 Tickets to Social Service Agencies

 

Economically underserved populations receive free Nashville’s Nutcracker Tickets

Nashville BalletNashville, TN – Nashville Ballet will give away 2,500 tickets to Artistic Director Paul Vasterling’s production of Nashville’s Nutcracker through the Ballet’s Holiday Magic initiative for a thirtieth consecutive year.

Integral to Nashville Ballet’s mission, Holiday Magic allows the organization to inspire and entertain individuals supported by area social service agencies by introducing them to one of the most popular ballets of all time.

Nashville Ballet to hold Youth Cast Auditions for the Nutcracker

 

Nashville BalletNashville, TN – Nashville Ballet invites community youth ages eight and up to open auditions for the 2019-2020 season production of Nashville’s Nutcracker. Auditions are on August 18th, August 25th, and September 8th at Nashville Ballet’s Sylvan Park facility, 3630 Redmon Street, Nashville, Tennessee.

An annual holiday production, Nashville’s Nutcracker features approximately 300 youth cast members from School of Nashville Ballet and the surrounding community dancing alongside the professional artists in Nashville Ballet’s Company, as well as the Nashville Symphony.

Auditions will be held on Sundays, August 19th, August 26th and September 9th, 2018 at Nashville Ballet’s Sylvan Park facility, 3630 Redmon Street, Nashville.

An annual Christmastime production, Nashville’s Nutcracker features approximately 300 youth cast members from the School of Nashville Ballet and the surrounding community.

Dance Theatre of Tennessee’s production of the Nutcracker continued new holiday tradition for Clarksville

 

Dance Theatre of TennesseeClarksville, TN – The Dance Theatre of Tennessee (DTT) in conjunction with the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund presented a tour of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker ballet.

The tour visited Nashville, Smyrna, Murfreesboro,  Smithville, and Clarksville. They were originally scheduled  to perform the show in Clarksville on December 7th, but inclement weather  forced the production to reschedule for December 20th.  Even so on December 20th, Austin Peay State University’s Clement Auditorium was packed with families heavy on the young girls who were there to enjoy the artistic spectacular.

The Nutcracker performance at Austin Peay University has been Rescheduled

 

Dance Theatre of TennesseeClarksville,  TN – The Dance Theatre of Tennessee and Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund production of “The Nutcracker” at the Austin Peay State University Clement Auditorium set for Saturday, December 7th has been rescheduled to Friday, December 20th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.

All tickets purchased online for both the 2:00pm and 7:00pm. performances will be honored.

Celebrate Christmas than with Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”

For many of us, The Nutcracker Ballet is a family holiday tradition.

The Nutcracker Ballet is based on the story “The Nutcracker and the King of Mice” written by E.T.A. Hoffman. Although what is seen on the stage today is different in detail from the original story, the basic plot remains the same: the story of a young German girl who dreams of a Nutcracker Prince and a fierce battle against a Mouse King with seven heads.

This charming ballet begins with the arrival of guests at the Stahlbaum house, home of young Clara. The guests  include the mysterious, magical Drosselmeyer, who presents young Clara with the famous “nutcracker.” later that night, Clara creeps downstairs and falls asleep with  gift wrapped in her arms. «Read the rest of this article»
