Nashville, TN – The New Orleans Baby Cakes swept the Nashville Sounds in a doubleheader in front of 7,977 fans at First Tennessee Park Monday night. The Sounds’ offense was shut out in both games and collected a total of just six hits.
The doubleheader was made up as part of the suspended game from April 30th between the two teams. When play resumed on Monday, the score was 0-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
Nashville, TN – First baseman Hunter Morris enjoyed a solid Triple-A debut on a rainy Thursday evening at Greer Stadium, homering and driving in four runs to power the Nashville Sounds to a 5-4 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs in their season opener.
Morris — the 2012 Southern League Most Valuable Player who finished second in the minors in RBIs a year ago– started this season seemingly where he left off, going 2-for-4 with a double and homer to go along with his four RBIs.

Metarie, LA – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the New Orleans Zephyrs on Saturday evening at Zephyr Field. The Sounds dropped the opener, 4-2, and scored two late runs in the twinbill finale for a 3-1 victory. The doubleheader made up last night’s rainout.
In the nightcap, the Sounds scored two runs in the top of the 7th inning to hand the New Orleans a 3-1 defeat in the second-game of a doubleheader.
Doubleheader Scheduled For Saturday Evening In New Orleans
Metairie, LA – Tonight’s scheduled series opener at Zephry Field between the Nashville Sounds and New Orleans Zephyrs has been postponed due to torrential downpours throughout the day.
The game will be made up as part of a 5:00pm doubleheader on Saturday evening, when the two teams will play a pair of seven-inning games.
Sounds righty Wily Peralta (5-8, 5.10) will toe the rubber against New Orleans right-hander Tom Koehler (9-8, 3.64) in Saturday’s opener. Nashville’s starter in the finale is TBA and will be faced by Zephyrs righty J.D. Martin (5-7, 6.53).

Nashville, TN – Taylor Green blasted a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 4-3 win on Thursday night at Greer Stadium in the finale of a four-game set.
On the second pitch from Joe Ortiz (0-1), Green’s unloaded his second homer of the season and first since re-joining the Sounds from the Milwaukee Brewers.
The last-at-bat victory was the Nashville’s 13th of the season and gave the club a four-game series split with the Round Rock Express.
Corey Patterson Homers For Nashville To Provide Only Run In Contest
Nashville, TN – Mark Rogers turned in one of the best outings of his pro career in leading the Nashville Sounds to a 1-0 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium.
Rogers (2-3) matched a career high with seven scoreless innings of action, scattering five hits during his 86-pitch effort. He walked one batter and fanned three in his third quality start of the season, facing only two batters over the minimum during his outing.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds dropped a 10-6 slugfest to visiting New Orleans Zephyrs on Monday evening at Greer Stadium. The loss was the Sounds’ seventh in the last eight games.
Nashville (21-36) gave up a season-high four Zephyrs homers in the loss, including two from catcher Clint Sammons.
New Orleans starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc (3-4) allowed two runs on six hits while fanning six in seven innings for the victory. The left-hander also doubled in and scored a run from the dish.

Nashville Returns To Music City For Home Opener Friday Night
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds were held to five hits by a trio of Oklahoma City pitchers during a 2-0 shutout loss to the RedHawks on Thursday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
With the defeat, Nashville finished its season-opening road trip with a 2-6 record, going 1-3 against both the New Orleans Zephyrs and the Oklahoma City RedHawks.
The Sounds’ lone hits in the contest were singles off the bats of Erick Almonte, Eric Farris, Caleb Gindl, Paul Phillips, and Logan Schafer. Nashville put a runner into scoring position only three times in the contest.
Metairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds found the win column for the first time in 2012 as the New Orleans Zephyrs were held to four hits in a 1-0 shutout in the finale of a four-game set on Easter Sunday at Zephyr Field.
After dropping the first three games of the series, the Sounds avoided a sweep and recorded the second shutout in the Pacific Coast League this season. Nashville posted five shutouts in 2011.
