Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Early Bird Registration for 50+ Olympics is approaching

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Are you thinking about participating in this year’s 50+ Olympics? Participants who register on or before April 24th qualify for the Early Bird Rate of $20.00. Cost to register April 25th through May 4th is $25.00.

Registration fee includes complimentary event t-shirt, swag bag, and dinner ticket.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now through Monday, May 4th for Clarksville’s 50-Plus Olympics.

This year’s events will be held May 12th-16th at various locations around Clarksville, to include the Pinnacle Bowling Center, Swan Lake Sports Complex, D&D Blacklight Mini Golf, Rossview High School track, and the Crow & Kleeman Community Centers.

Former APSU Football Coach Bill Schmitz Dies

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUTampa, FL – Former Austin Peay State University coach Bill Schmitz has died at the age of 59. His death was confirmed Monday following an apparent suicide jump from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa.

A longtime coach, Schmitz had a lengthy coaching resume that included stops at Cincinnati, Rice, Vanderbilt and Eastern Michigan before getting his first head coaching job with the United States Coast Guard Academy.

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – The Family and MWR Sports & Fitness office has released the 2013 Intramural & Recreation Sports Calendar.

There are so many wonderful sports activities to choose from such as basketball, racquetball, flag football, softball, volleyball, track, soccer, wrestling and more. Clarksville 50+ Olympics to kick off May 8th

 

OlympicClarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until April 30 for the 2012 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.

This year’s events will be held May 8th-12th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.

Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and indoor swimming events. «Read the rest of this article»
