Winter Nature Watch Series at LBL

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area is presenting the second in a new seasonal Nature Watch Series. Winter Wanderers: Eagles & Waterfowl Migration van tours will take place Saturday, January 15th, 2011. 

“Come out and enjoy abundant winter wildlife viewing opportunities in the southern portion of LBL,” said Sharon Waltrip, LBL’s Program Manager for Environmental Education and Interpretation. “This new Nature Watch Series will take outdoor enthusiasts to our region’s hidden corners to witness some of nature’s greatest moments. Stay tuned for more in this exciting new series!”

Winter Wanderers: Eagles & Waterfowl Migration van tours

Winter Wanderers: Eagles & Waterfowl Migration gives visitors the opportunity to view eagles, mergansers, loons, and more as they converge on LBL. On Saturday, search out wintering species during a morning History of Eagles Tour of LBL and an afternoon Cross Creeks Waterfowl Tour. Tours are $40.00 per person. 

Tours will begin at Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, TN.  Reservations are required; the event is limited to 20 people.  For reservations and more information, call 270-924-2020. 

LBL is planning an environmental education Nature Watch event each season; Warblers & Wildflowers, April 16th-17th, 2011; Stilt Walkers of LBL:  Herons & Egrets, June 11, 2011; and Hidden Treasures of LBL, September 10th-11th, 2011.
