Raymond C Hand Pass pedestrian bridge to re-open

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Raymond C. Hand Pass pedestrian bridge, located at the left side of the Pollard Road Trailhead of the Clarksville Greenway is scheduled to reopen to the public Saturday, November 5th.

The City of Clarksville temporarily closed the pedestrian bridge back in March of this year after slope failures occurred at both ends of the bridge.

“On behalf of the Mayor and City Council, I want to express the City and the Department’s sincere appreciation in the patience that our citizens have shown during this process.” said Mark Tummons, City Parks & Recreation Director, “The Bridge structure was never in doubt, but with the slopes giving way, we felt our only best and right recourse was to close the entire section until work was completed.  It is absolutely a wonderful day to see this incredible link re-opened. We look forward to adding new greenway and trail connections across our City in the years to come.”

The bridge offers a 600’ panoramic view as well as about a mile and a fourth of additional trail.
