Austin Peay State University
Clarksville, TN – When freshmen and new students begin their academic careers at Austin Peay State University, they take a course known as APSU 1000 to learn more about the University, their majors and resources on campus.
One APSU 1000 class, though, decided to take their classroom experience to another level. On Wednesday, November 14th, the students presented a $320.00 check to the APSU Child Learning Center (CLC) for playground improvements.

“They voted on it after spending time discussing other possible projects,” said Taylor, adding that the class held a penny drive in October to raise funds for the CLC.
Connie Sanders, director of the Child Learning Center, said the students’ efforts will help to make the playground improvements become a reality.
“We held a book fair in September, and that helped, but we would still be working on this project if it weren’t for these students,” she said.
