Clarksville Police Department releases photos of Greenwood Cemetery Vandalism

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police released today photos of the vandalism at Greenwood Cemetery. The police are asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation.

On December 2nd, 2013, Clarksville Police responded to a vandalism call  at 984 Greenwood Avenue. Between November 30th and December 2nd an unknown suspect(s) entered onto the cemetery property.

The suspect(s) climbed up on top of a large mausoleum and pushed over a granite tablet which was attached on top.

The complainant stated that the tablet weighed in excess of 5,000 lbs and an estimated cost to replace would be at least 30,000 dollars.

This is not the first recent occurrence of vandalism at the Greenwood Cemetery. On another occasion several headstones were pushed over during the night time hours.
