Clarksville Parks and Recreation Report for January 26th, 2014

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: Wettest Egg Hunt, Youth Leagues, Clarksville Blueway, Winter Gym, and Fitness Classes.

Wettest Egg Hunt

Wettest Egg Hunt on April 12th at the Indoor Aquatic Center. All ages are welcome! This is not your typical egg hunt, come hunt for eggs that are either floating on top of the water or have been sunk to the bottom. There will be refreshments, the Easter Bunny, inflatables outside, egg coloring, and other fun games and activities. Open swim will be available, and there will be an inflatable water slide.

Youth Leagues

Registration for youth leagues begins February 3rd, and will end on March 24th. The $40.00 fee includes team shirt, hat, and medal. The youth league is open to children ages 3-14. All of the games will be played at Heritage Park Baseball Fields.

Clarksville Blueway

The Clarksville Blueway combines recreational activity and environmental awareness. This water trail is open to canoeists, kayakers, and paddle borders. The Blueway was created around launch sites, including locations at McGregor Park and the Robert Clark Park, and points of interest.

Winter Gym

The winter gym program is still going on at Bryns-Darden Elementary until March 25th. Every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Bryns-Darden opens their doors from 6:00pm-9:00pm for open gym basketball. Registration is available on site, and anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Fitness Classes

All of our Community Centers offer a variety of fitness classes. Everything from cardio boxing to zumba is available. Don’t forget your Center ID!
