Tulsa, OK – Both representatives of the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team lost in their opening matches in the pre-qualifying tournament of the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships, Saturday, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
In the second round he faced Jonny Rigby of Southern Illinois where he dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision and was eliminated from the tournament.
Tverijonas’ teammate, Iago Seffrin, played Zachary Goldberg of North Florida in a first-round match. After dropping the first set 6-2, Seffrin battled back to force a third set with a 6-4 win. In the third set, Seffrin was defeated by Goldberg 6-2, eliminating Seffrin from the tournament.
Both Tverijonas and Seffrin will participate in back draw matches, Sunday, before returning home. The Govs will host North Alabama, Friday, October 3rd.
