Clarksville Parks and Recreation now taking registrations for 2018 50 Plus Games

 

More than 25 events will unfold May 15th-19th, 2018

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Adults 50 and up can register now through May 4th, 2018 for Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s 50 Plus Games.

The mission of the 50 Plus Games is to encourage participants to maintain an active lifestyle and continue participation in sports and recreational activities through friendly, low-impact competitions.

This year’s events will be May 15th-19th at various venues across Clarksville, including Crow Community Center, Swan Lake Sports Complex, Liberty Park, Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center, Austin Peay State University Foy Center, D&D Black Light Mini Golf, Uffleman Estates and the Rossview High School track.

Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in 28 events, including horseshoes, tennis, track, bowling, basketball free throw, pickleball, 3D black light mini golf and cycling.

Participants who register before April 20th qualify for the early bird rate of $25.00. Cost to register April 20th to May 4th is $30.00. Registration fee includes complimentary swag bag, dinner ticket and event T-shirt. Registration for bowling is an additional $6.50 per person, per event and registration for black light mini golf is an additional $4.00 per person. Additional t-shirts (sizes not guaranteed) are also available for purchase for $10.00 while supplies last.

The 50 Plus Games will begin with a reception at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 15th, at Uffelman Estates, 215 Uffelman Drive. The closing dinner and awards ceremony will feature a country carnival theme and will be at 5:30pm on Saturday, May 19th at Liberty Park’s Freedom Point. One ticket for the closing dinner is included in the registration cost, but additional tickets may be purchased for $10.00.

Volunteer scorekeepers are needed for each day of competition. No experience is necessary.
