APSU Women’s Basketball defeats Trevecca 90-78 at Dunn Center

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team defeated Trevecca, 90-78, Wednesday, at the Winfield Dunn Center.

From the get-go, the Governors (2-2) were led by senior standout Keisha Gregory. Gregory had been struggling a bit to get going, but had ten points alone in the first quarter, which already bettered each of her previous three games.

Clarksville Police request help identifying a Vehicle Burglary Suspect

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On October 27th, 2018, around 9:30am, Clarksville Police were called to the 900 block of South Riverside Drive to investigate two vehicle burglaries occurring at a business.

The suspect broke out the windows of a Dodge 3500 and Land Rover to gain access to the vehicles. The damage to the vehicles and stolen property exceeded over $4,000 in value.

APSU Volleyball hosts OVC Volleyball Tournament, play Tennessee State Thursday

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – For the second straight year, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will host the Ohio Valley Conference’s Volleyball Championship. The 2018 edition will be held Thursday-Saturday at the Dunn Center.

The top-seeded Governors will face No. 8 seed Tennessee State in a 7:00pm, Thursday nightcap to the tourney’s opening day. Austin Peay won a four-set decision in Nashville in the regular-season’s only meeting with Tennessee State.

National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory as a wintry mix is expected to impact Clarksville-Montgomery County and Northwest Middle Tennessee tonight into Thursday.

An early season winter storm looks to impact parts of the mid state, with areas in the advisory seeing rain, sleet, snow, and freezing rain this evening through much of Thursday. Snow accumulations look to be less than an inch for most of the advisory area, with up to a tenth of an inch of ice, which could impact the morning commute Thursday morning.

Rain is already freezing on trees and will soon be freezing on power lines in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Clarksville’s Florim USA receives 2017 TVA Carbon Reduction Award

Fort Campbell Training Area Closed and Off-Limits November 28th thru December 14th

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The Fort Campbell Training Area will be closed and off-limits to all through traffic and recreational use from 7:00pm November 28th, 2018 through 5:00am December 14th for military training. The closure is needed to ensure public safety.

The access gates to the training area, located at U.S. Highway 79 and Palmyra Road in Tennessee and Lafayette Road near Patton Road in Kentucky, will be closed and locked for the duration of the training. All roads west of 101st Airborne Division Road will be barricaded by law enforcement to prevent vehicles from entering the training area.
