APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis team, fresh off their win in the Ohio Valley Conference opener, take on North Alabama, 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 26th.

The match was originally scheduled to be played more than a month ago, but was postponed.

The Governors (5-10, 1-0 OVC) shutout Tennessee State, 7-0, for their first win in the OVC opener in two years.

The Govs improved to 5-4 at home with the win, but are still searching for that elusive road victory.

The improved doubles play recently has been a major contributor to success. The duo of Jacob Lorino and Chad Woodham won their third straight match with a win over the Tigers’ No. 3 pairing, as the Govs won the doubles point for the second straight match.

Woodham also stepped into the singles lineup for the first time in a few weeks, replacing promising Anton Damberg, who was sick and forced to miss the match. Woodham answered with a straight-set win, as the Govs swept singles to start 1-0 in OVC play.

About the North Alabama Lions

The Lions (1-12, 0-2 ASUN) have not the best start to a season and will look to right the ship. They have played Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee, and Chattanooga, all opponents the Govs fell to as well.

The Lions have also went up against Ole Miss and Alabama a total of three times, with Alabama being ranked No. 22 in the country at the time. Their lone win came just over a week ago against Mississippi Valley on a neutral site. It is also the first-ever meeting between the Govs and the Lions.

North Alabama will provide live stats for the match. Follow @AustinPeayMTN on Twitter to keep up with the action.
