The Governors are coming off a short break after hosting their 2019 APSU Cross Country Festival on September 21st.

This does not mean that the Govs have been taking their leisure; Valerie Brown‘s squad has been mentally and physically preparing for their second half of the season.

The last time the Governors competed at the Fast Cats Classic was in 2011, where the Govs placed a team finish of third and two top-25 finishes for the individuals. For this year, 19 different teams will race against the Governors, including familiar foes in Tennessee State and Evansville, who will be in attendance.

At the home meet, seven out of the eight Govs finished in the top-25, and they will intend on posting similar results on Saturday. Molly Howard and Emmaculate Kiplagat intend to lead the way for the Governors as both runners finished in the top-15 in the home meet (10th and 13th).
