City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – As a service to City residents, the Clarksville Street Department is conducting a citywide pickup of yard debris and tree limbs caused by the severe October 26th wind storm.

Clarksville Street Department is busy removing storm debris across the City that has been moved by residents and piled along the roadside. However, residents should know that the Department does not remove debris processed by a commercial tree-removal service.

The Street Department will not pick up limbs where a commercial company has cut trees and cleared debris.

These for-hire companies are responsible for removing the debris themselves, and residents should make sure that the companies agree to complete the full clearing and removal project.

Also, the Street Department will not remove non-storm debris such as household trash and mattresses.

Resident-generated yard debris must be stacked or placed in cardboard boxes or biodegradable paper bags. Plastic bags will not be picked up. The debris must be placed on the City of Clarksville’s right of way near the street. Tree limbs must be 6 feet or less in length.

Because of the high volume of storm debris citywide, the Street Department and contracted removal crews will be going throughout the city to pick up debris.

Follow the Clarksville Street Department Facebook page for a schedule of pickup areas. Residents may also call the department at 931.472.3353 to get an address on a list for pickup.
