Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Cheerleading Team has announced the dates of its official audition dates for the 2018-19 team.
Coach Shandy Ellis-Brown will host official auditions for the 2018-19 team over three days – May 4th-6th – at the Memorial Health Building (The Red Barn). This event will select the members of the APSU Cheerleading Team for the 2018-19 season.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University President Alisa White and her husband, Elliott Herzlich, commemorated the University’s 90th anniversary with a special ceremony and tree planting on Wednesday.
The noon event took place on the lawn in front of the Browning Building, and it included performances by the Governors’ Own Marching Band, the APSU Chamber Singers, the University Choir, the Austin Peay Dance Team and members of the APSU Cheerleading Squad.

Clarksville, TN – For the fourth consecutive semester, more than half of Austin Peay State University’s athletes received academic recognition following the recently concluded spring semester.
The department saw 180 athletes named to the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll, each earning a minimum 3.0 grade-point average during the semester. That amounted to more than 53 percent of the department’s near-record 335 athletes earning academic recognition from the department.
It is the fourth consecutive semester the department has seen more than 50 percent of its athletes post a 3.0 or better GPA.

Clarksville, TN – A department-record 37 student-athletes earned 4.0 grade-point averages during the Spring 2015 semester, the Austin Peay State University athletics department announced Wednesday.
Those 37 student-athletes were among 159 named to the Spring 2015 Athletics Director’s Honor Roll, representing more than half (52.3 percent) of the department’s student-athletes.
In addition, 83 student-athletes were named to Austin Peay’s dean’s list. The department finished both the spring semester and 2014-15 academic year with a 2.88 GPA.

Clarksville, TN – For the first time since Austin Peay State University established the awards nearly two decades ago, the Most Outstanding Male and Female Athletes have come from the sport of tennis.
Junior Sean Bailey, who recently was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year in leading the Govs to the No. 2 seed in the OVC tournament, and Vanja Tomic, a three-time first-team All-OVC selection who owned an 19-6 record at No. 1 singles this year, have been named the 2011-12 Most Outstanding APSU Athletes.

Daytona Beach, FL – Austin Peay State University cheerleading squad finished fifth in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Division I championships held this week at the Band Shell/Ocean Center/Peabody Auditorium.
APSU’s cheer squad competed in the prelims earlier in the week to reach the championship round along with Grambling, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin and Central Arkansas. Sam Houston State won Friday’s championships.
