Austin Peay ROTC cadets excel at military summer programs

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, Tn –-Twelve Austin Peay ROTC students – including the University’s first-ever cadet to go to the Jungle Warfare School in Hawaii – attended multiple training schools during the summer.

Austin Peay State University also sent its first cadet since 2006 to Army Mountain Warfare School in Vermont and the third and fourth cadets ever to U.S. Military Academy Cadet Summer Training at West Point, New York.

Governors Men & Women’s Basketball Season Tickets on sale now

 

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, Tn – Austin Peay State University basketball season ticket holders can now renew online for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

The athletics department sent renewal letters Wednesday to 2018-19 season ticket holders with information on the renewal process. Season ticket holders also will receive a customized email to their address on file with the athletics ticket office. Through this email, each season ticket holder will have the convenience of accessing their online account to renew and manage their tickets through their desktop computer or mobile device.

Instant Peay Play: March Madness returns to APSU

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – For the first time since the 2007-08 season March Madness has found its way back to Clarksville and Austin Peay with the Governors making a magical run through the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament to earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament field of 68 teams.

And it was the magic night after night that the NCAA plays up this time of year that seemed to power Austin Peay, with the Govs playing four games in a span of 71 hours against four higher seeds – who had up until the tournament – had posted a 5-0 record against Austin Peay this season.

APSU Governors Football scrimmage cut short due to Bard Wilmer Leg Injury

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN Barely half way through Austin Peay State University’s scrimmage came to a screeching halt, Saturday afternoon, at the Clarksville Academy Sports Complex.

One play into the second half, junior safety Brad Wilmer suffered a significant leg injury. After realizing the seriousness of the injury, APSU head coach Kirby Cannon called off the scrimmage remainder.

“Our feeling with something like that is we should not even try to resume,” Cannon said. “When you have a horrific injury like that, where there is pain and an injury that is going to end a young man’s season, it is hard to refocus the team. You put them at danger.

Austin Peay State University golfer Marco Iten in third place at NCAA Auburn Regional

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUAuburn, AL – Not only has Marco Iten put himself in position to secure a possible NCAA Championship berth, the Austin Peay State senior is challenging a star-studded field for a NCAA Auburn Regional medalist honor as well.

Iten fired a 2-under 70, Friday and sits at 3-under 141 heading in Saturday’s final round, being played on the par-72 7,254-yard Auburn University Club.
