Clarksville High Wildcats Baseball pulls away late to defeat Henry County Patriots 14-4 in 10-AAA Tournament

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Leading by a narrow 5-4 margin after three-and-a-half innings of play, Clarksville High School’s baseball team exploded for nine runs in its final two at bats, May 5th, to defeat Henry County High School 14-4 – in five innings – to remain undefeated in the District 10-AAA Tournament.

The Wildcats (26-5) will advance to the tournament finals at 7:00pm, on May 6th and host the winner of the elimination game between Northwest High school (7-25) and Henry County (17-11), scheduled to start at 4:30pm at Clarksville High’s Baseball Field.

Clarksville High Wildcats baseball defeats Springfield High Yellow Jackets 4-1

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsSpringfield, TN – Clarksville High School’s baseball team fell behind early on the road to Springfield High School, in their District 10-AAA matchup April 22nd, but rallied with four straight runs to defeat the Yellow Jackets 4-1.

After no-hitting Springfield on April 21st in a 10-0 victory, the Wildcats (22-4, 11-1 District 10-AAA) saw the Yellow Jackets get a first-inning RBI single from Jackson Cobb off CHS starter Ben Bleyle for a 1-0 lead.

Clarksville High Wildcats baseball shutdown by Tullahoma 2-0

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The second day of the William Workman Classic baseball tournament at Clarksville High School Saturday, April 12th, began with a Wildcats vs. Wildcats battle as Clarksville High hosted their first game of the day against Tullahoma.

The game was a defensive battle with strong pitchers on the mound getting great help from their teammates on the field. Runs came at a premium despite both teams making a lot of contact at the plate. Ultimately, Tullahoma proved they were the superior Wildcats for the day, shutting out Clarksville High 2-0.

Rossview High baseball rallies to beat Clarksville High 9-8 handing Wildcats their first District 10-AAA loss

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Down 8-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, Rossview High’s baseball rallied to force extra innings, April 9th, on it was to handing Clarksville High School its first District 10-AAA loss of the season 9-8, in eight innings.

Rossview (10-8, 6-2 District 10-AAA) got the rally going by scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 8-7 against Wildcats relief pitcher Nolen Milton, who came in for starter Ben Bleyle – who gave up four runs to the Hawks in the first inning.

Clarksville High Baseball gets extra innings win over Henry County thanks to Nolen Milton’s single

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s Nolen Milton blasted an RBI single to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning, April 1st, to lift the Wildcats past Henry County High School 3-2 to remain undefeated in District 10-AAA.

Milton’s hit for Clarksville High (14-1, 6-0 10-AAA) drove in Brady Cook, who opened the bottom of the eighth inning with a triple off the base of the right-center field fence – just below the 357-foot mark.

“Brady had an outstanding swing on that ball and smoked it,” Clarksville High coach Brian Hetland said. “If there had been any wind at all it would have been a walk-off home run. He just continues to be a good leader for us.

Clarksville High Baseball scores nine in one inning to beat Northwest High 14-4

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Clarksville High’s baseball team put together a nine-run fourth inning, March 26th, to break open it District 10-AAA game versus Northwest High School on its way to a 14-4 victory.

With the win, Clarksville High remains undefeated on the season – improving to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in District 10-AAA.

The Wildcats would collect 11 hits against four different Northwest pitchers in the victory, with Landon Mosteller, Ryan Streeter, Justin Miller and Luke Chilcutt all recording two hits each.

Clarksville High baseball remains undefeated with 3-2 win over Pope John Paul II

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsHendersonville, TN – Clarksville High School’s baseball rallied from an early 2-0 deficit, March 13th, to defeat Pope John Paul II by a 3-2 final to remain undefeated on the season.

The Wildcats (3-0) and starting pitcher Ben Bleyle (1-0) gave up two runs to the Knights on a two-run hit by Jacob Telli, but he settled in after that in limiting Pope John Paul to three hits over five innings of work.

Clarksville High would score all its runs in the top of the third inning, with Nolen Milton and Gabe Bowling collecting RBI hits in the rally.

Clarksville High School Baseball earns spot in District Finals with 5-0 shutout versus Henry County

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Clarksville High’s baseball team earned a spot in the championship game of the District 10-AAA Tournament behind a four-hit, 5-0, shutout Tuesday, May 7th by Ben Bleyle in the tournament’s semi-final round.

Early on it looked like Bleyle would give up some runs quickly to the Patriots, with Henry County’s Evan Pugh hitting the first pitch of the game into left field for a single, followed by a walk to Thomas Bomar.
