Brentwood, TN – Longtime ‘Voice of the Govs’ Bill Herndon has been awarded the Ohio Valley Conference’s Media Lifetime Achievement honor, accorded to a media member who formerly covered the league.
The awards were established in 2010 as a way to recognize these media members who provide publicity for the conference, its member institutions and intercollegiate athletics; perform their jobs in a fair, consistent and accurate manner; provide all-around coverage for a variety of sports; and demonstrate the ability to go above and beyond their normal beat or job description.

Clarksville, TN – After playing its final non-conference game last weekend against Mercer, Austin Peay now will settle back into Ohio Valley Conference play for the final six weeks.
Up first will be rival Murray State, 6:00pm, Saturday, at Governors Stadium.
The package will kickoff on Saturday, September 20th when UT Martin hosts Eastern Kentucky at 12:00pm CT. The second game of the package will take place on Saturday, October 4th and will be a “Wildcard” selection which will be announced roughly 12 days before the contest.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Governors Football is still seeking its first 2013 victory as they travel to Murray State to take on the Racers Saturday, October 19th.
The Governors enter the contest with 21 straight road losses. Their last road victory came against Tennessee State, a 26-23 verdict, September 18th, 2010.
Brentwood, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference today announced a nine game football “Game of the Week” package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall.
The nine game schedule will feature each of the nine OVC football-playing institutions at least once during the season and includes eight Conference matchups and one non-conference game

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University football team hopes to end the season on a high note when it hosts Tennessee Tech in an 11:00am, Saturday contest at Governors Stadium.
The Govs won their last home game – a 56-0 spanking of Culver-Stockton – and look to make it two in a row in Clarksville. Saturday also represents Austin Peay’s last chance to earn an Ohio Valley Conference victory in 2012.
