But the Smashville “love” quickly became boos when he got caught up in some fisticuffs with former teammate Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators defeated the visiting Anaheim Ducks at Bridgestone Arena tonight, 5-2, behind Austin Watson’s first NHL hat trick.
Watson gave the Predators a 1-0 lead at the 11:04 mark of the first period, scoring off of a rebound of a Nick Bonino shot in the crease to get the festivities started.
A spirited battle between the two teams saw multiple minutes of penalties, especially during a contentious second period.

Ryan Hartman led the Preds with his two goal effort, that gave Nashville all they would need on the night.
The Predators had struggled this season at home, where their only three losses had occurred in Nashville. The Predators outshot the Golden Knights, 28-24 on the night.
Reilly Smith scored the first goal of the Knight for Vegas at 17:14 of the first period when his snapshot beat Predators goalie, Juuse Saros on the high side and Vegas led 1-0.
