Nashville Sounds lose 9-3 at Gwinnett Stripers

 

Nashville SoundsLawrenceville, GA – For the second night in a row, the Nashville Sounds outhit the Gwinnett Stripers but lost, suffering a 9-3 defeat on Wednesday night at Coolray Field. The Sounds have suffered four consecutive losses and have dropped to second place in their division after 22 consecutive days with at least a share of first place.

Each time the Sounds scored, Gwinnett answered in the bottom half. In the top of the first, Jamie Westbrook singled to extend his hitting streak to eight games, and Keston doubled to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

Nashville Sounds hold off late Columbus Clippers rally for 6-5 victory

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Zach Green led the charge with a first-inning two-run homer, and the pitching held on late to give the Nashville Sounds a 6-5 win over the Columbus Clippers Wednesday night at Huntington Park. The victory in game two of the series extended Nashville’s winning streak to a Minor League Baseball-best eight games.

The game started with Nashville’s Pablo Reyes drawing a walk-off Columbus starter Kevin Herget. After a pair of strikeouts, Green drilled a long two-run homer to deep left field to give Nashville a 2-0 lead. It was Green’s team-leading sixth home run of the season.

Nashville Sounds rally comes up short in 4-3 loss to Memphis Redbirds

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds ninth-inning comeback attempt came up short as they fell 4-3 to the Memphis Redbirds in front of 8,993 fans on Sunday afternoon at First Horizon Park.

Corey Ray singled home two runs in the bottom of the ninth to cut the Memphis lead to 4-3 but Logan Forsythe grounded into a double play and Christian Kelley flew out to end the game.

Memphis took a 1-0 lead in the second on a single from Dennis Ortega and John Nogowski added to the lead in the fifth with an RBI single of his own to put the Redbirds up 2-0.

Nashville Sounds take down Memphis Redbirds, 8-2

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Pitcher Bubba Derby delivered a pinch-hit home run to break a 2-2 tie and propel the Nashville Sounds to an 8-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds in front of 3,976 fans on Thursday night at First Horizon Park. Derby is the first Sounds pitcher to homer since June 14th, 2014 (Kyle Heckathorn vs. Reno).

Nashville jumped on the board first when Mario Feliciano made it a 1-0 game on a sacrifice fly.

Memphis responded in the third with a two-run homer, but the Sounds tied the game at two in the bottom half when Hernán Pérez hit a homer of his own.

Nashville Sounds drop opener to Toledo Mud Hens, 8-6

 

Josh Lindblom, Derek Fisher, and Jace Peterson Made Rehab Appearances with Nashville

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds clubbed four home runs in the 2021 season opener but a five-run bottom of the sixth inning for Toledo propelled the Mud Hens to an 8-6 win at Fifth Third Field Tuesday night.

Nashville got home runs from Dustin Peterson, Mario Feliciano, and Derek Fisher in consecutive innings in the club’s first game in over 600 days. Peterson’s three-run blast started the scoring in the third inning, plating Jamie Westbrook and Fisher.

In the top of the fourth, Feliciano’s first knock of the year left the yard to right-center to give Nashville a 4-0 lead. Fisher, playing with Nashville on a Major League rehab assignment, drilled a solo shot in the fifth.
