Clarksville’s McGregor Park to reopen Friday for Riverfest

 

2017 RiverFestClarksville, TN – Sunny and pleasant weather is forecast Thursday through Saturday for Clarksville’s Riverfest Celebration, offering a welcome change from last week’s storms and flooding.

Heavy rains swept through Clarksville early Friday, pushing the Cumberland River to flood stage, covering McGregor Park’s two outdoor stages and forcing Clarksville Parks and Recreation to close the park.

2017 RiverFestClarksville, TN – Join the City of Clarksville and Budweiser along the banks of the Cumberland River to celebrate Clarksville’s river heritage and the 30th anniversary of the annual Riverfest Celebration, September 7th-9th, 2017.

This free, three-day music and arts festival features three stages of diverse local and nationally known entertainers and cultural groups, plus delicious food and fun for the entire family.

RiverFest 2012Clarksville, TN – Join the City of Clarksville, Budweiser, and Agero along the banks of the Cumberland River as they celebrate Clarksville’s river heritage at the 25th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 7th and 8th, 2012. This FREE, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.

The music kicks off Friday night at 5:00pm with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Mary’s the Music Store Stage to include MIKESCHAIR who will perform at 9:00pm. Eliminator and Little Queen will take to the Bud Light Stage on Friday night, followed by the ultimate Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction.

Riverfest 2011Clarksville, TN – The 2011 Riverfest Festival continues Saturday, September 10th featuring six stages of entertainment, art exhibits, crafts, vendors, delicious food.

The morning kicks off at 10:00am with the Riverfest Regatta. Started in 2007, crews manning boats built out of cardboard race down the Cumberland River. More boat than ever are expected at this year’s Riverfest Regatta.

Riverfest 2011Clarksville, TN – The 2011 Riverfest Festival kicks off this afternoon with weather that can only be described as absolutely perfect; temperatures are expected to be upper 70’s, low 80’s. Now in its 24th year, the free festival held on the banks of the Cumberland River celebrates Clarksville’s river heritage.

Riverfest 2010Black Velvet played Saturday on the Bud Light Stage at the 2010 Riverfest Celebration. The unsigned band features Anna Henderson (Bass Guitar, Lead and Harmony Vocals), Tina Huff (Lead and Harmony Vocals), Lenny Henderson (Lead Guitar and Vocals), Jimmy Cheshire (Lead Guitar and Vocals), and  Jim Klingler (Drums).  They list the artists that influenced their music as Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood, Reba, And last but definitely not least Wynonna Judd.

 

Riverfest to Feature Remembrance Ceremony

 

Riverfest 2010In honor of the nine year anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a remembrance ceremony will be held from noon to 12:30pm Saturday, September 11th at Riverfest on the Bud Light Stage. Join us as we remember those who lost their lives during the September 11th tragedy and pay tribute to those who defend our freedom every day.

The 101st Airborne Division Band will take the stage to perform following a speech by City Councilman Deanna McLaughlin. The Clarksville Police Department, Clarksville Fire Rescue Honor Guard, and the Clarksville Police Department Chaplain will all take part in this moving and patriotic ceremony.

Restless Heart to Perform Friday at Riverfest

 

Riverfest 2010James Otto, who was set to perform Friday night at Riverfest, will be unable to perform due to an illness. Legendary country music group, Restless Heart, is currently celebrating over 25 years of perfecting the art of entertaining. They will perform Friday, September 10th at 9:00pm on the Bud Light Stage.

Their harmonies are pure silver, polished to a high sheen. And, as easily as silver conducts electricity, their music has electrified audiences around the world.
